Summary: This is a good a/c for a room where you don't want a window unit, for one reason or another. It is not quite as powerful or efficient as a window unit, but it's nice that it's portable and doesn't require the annoying installation of a window unit (though the vent pipe is annoying, as other reviewers have mentioned). It cools a large room (700 sq ft) very well. The remote control is also a nice touch. It's well worth it if you need an a/c that is not a window unit!
Deficient Product - Works as a Fan and not as an AC Unit!

Summary: I bought this item New, but when I received the box it was used and I can tell by the repackaged staples along the edges of the box. Inside the box the bracket sliders were broken into pieces. Worst yet, the air conditioning doesn't work! The unit only blows out regular air and it operates like a fan. I read the manual instructions and yes, I do know all the different buttons on the unit but it doesn't work properly.
Summary: I was so pumped to get this thing based on the reviews. We have two window units in our house, but needed something for our bedroom because of the odd configuration of our windows and furniture. Assembly was a breeze, and I let it sit for awhile to make sure the coolant was all settled. I turned it on to a/c mode, and it blew some cool air for just a bit and then cycled off and blew warm air.
Summary: This is our second DeLonghi PACC 120E 12,000 BTU unit. We are extremely pleased with both units. Within 5 minutes of unpacking the second unit, I had it installed and operating in my living room. Instructions were easy to understand. All of the components fit as they were supposed to. Well worth the price!

Summary: This system has performed just as we hoped it would. We run it only when we go upstairs to sleep and it effectively cools a large bedroom/studio area (around 450 square feet). It is relatively quiet and we do not need to drain anything. It self evaporates.
Summary: This arrived with several problems and Delonghi's way of managing the issue creates difficulties for customers. The first problem I had was that the hose, which has two plastic tabs to connect it to the machine, had one broken tab. To replace it, you have to order parts online after proving that you purchased it recently by submitting a receipt.
Summary: When I receive the DeLonghi portable yesterday, it makes the third portable air conditioner I have in my 1,200 square feet condo. These are 40+ year old buildings and have an antiquated hvac system. Water (either hot or cold but not both) flows through pipes to each unit where it is fan forced throught ducts. The air conditioning cannot be turned on when the heat is still on.
Summary: I'm trying to decide why I love this so...undoubtedly a week of 85+ degree days is a factor, though I'm trying to keep it from unduly influencing me. So let's start with the basics. This is billed as a "portable" unit, though it's portable only insofar as it's not attached to anything. Moving it is not a trivial task. First, it weighs in at close to 80 lbs, so if you're going to move it any distance it's best to ask for some help.
Summary: using for small room. works good. likely would cool large room. good & powerful. cycles on & off to keep temperature accurate. pretty quiet. not like window unit. no adjustment on airflow direction. short distance needed to exaust window. (3') definitely exhaust needed. otherwise hot moist air recirculates in room defeating the purpose. reduces humidity too.
