Summary: using for small room. works good. likely would cool large room. good & powerful. cycles on & off to keep temperature accurate. pretty quiet. not like window unit. no adjustment on airflow direction. short distance needed to exaust window. (3') definitely exhaust needed. otherwise hot moist air recirculates in room defeating the purpose. reduces humidity too.
Summary: While being nowhere close to a "real" AC in terms of performance, this indoor unit did help us survive the hottest days of summer for the past 2 years. We live in California, so we are talking high 90s at the peak of summer. However, our family room faces west so it gets pretty hot in there in the late afternoon. Anyway, this AC was a welcome source of comfort. The room is kind of big, so you had to sit close to the AC for full benefit.
Summary: First time using a portable AC unit in our home and it works great. It cools our approximately 300sf room within a few minutes. We have it installed in a crank out casement window. The unit has to vent to the outside, so we brought the vent hose to a glass shop and had them cut a piece of lexan plastic to fit the window and a hole for the vent. Used caulk and voila!, it was installed in the window. Overall, very happy with the air condition.
Summary: Owned unit for about 3 weeks. Powerful unit that cools down our large room quickly. Electricity usage is good (costs about 1.1 kwh to run). No water leak and no water drain needed. There's noise while running in A/C mode, but no worst than typical window mount A/C unit. Do wish the noise level is lower. Overall, happy with the purchase so far. Recommended.
Summary: While I cannot speak to the overall strength of the machine in terms of how well it will "hold up" over time (years/months) or how well it will be behaving after days of high humidity (emptying the well inside the machine) - it does a great job of cooling and dehumidifying my condo space. The machine is ultra quiet compared to window units - and I can speak to this since I have a relatively new "through the wall" unit in my bedroom.
Summary: Works very well - cools great. As others have said, you will experience leak in dehumidify mode so you need to pay attention to the instructions. However, if you just use for A/C - no issues whatsoever. Read the manual folks - its there for a reason. Would buy again.
Summary: The window attachment was a bit flimsy, but works ok after some work. I set it on dehumidify, since it is only about 90 so far. It cooled my 300 sq ft bedroom down to 68!! Can't wait to see how it handles 113 Phoenix heat!
Summary: I live in north Texas and bought this new from a large membership retailer during an "out of season" clearance for $270. I bought it near the end of July and ran it non stop for the next two months to supplement the central A/C. My wife liked it as it did not block the entire window. Normally in August my central A/C will run 20+ hours a day to try and keep my home at 76.
