Do not touch

G. P. Craven-Griffiths, Amazon
28 June 2013
  • Summary: I bought this unit in July 2012. It worked in my spare bedroom for guests so was probably used three times last year. I started it up for guests this year and now have a problem with the dehumidifier being on all the time leading to the water reservoir filling up after 4 to 6 hours of use. How did I find this out? The unit did not switch off, it just spewed water over a nice wooden floor. I called Danby. No technical help.

Worked for 1 summer. That's it.

Amazon Customer, Amazon

  • Summary: Bought this at Costco a few years ago. I was actually searching for information on how to get this thing fixed or I'm going to throw it away. It worked fine the first summer I had it. Now it does nothing but blow warm air. Looked through the manual for information on how to perhaps recharge the coolant, but there's zero information about that. It's the world's largest doorstop as far as I'm concerned, and I'm tired of it taking up space and doing nothing.

  • Summary: It produces quite a bit of cool air but uses a lot of electricity and the flexible exhaust hose broke after two seasons.

I would definitely buy another if i needed one!

  • Summary: I bought this for the portable convenience. it also had the best features and highest BTUs yet still the best price. overall size is larger than I expected, and there are some steps missing in the instructions you have to figure out for yourself so installation takes a little longer but I am very happy with this AC unit, and i love the automatic oscillating louvers.

Fourth summer with Danby 120028

M Winters, Amazon
7 June 2011
  • Summary: We bought this as a $400 solution to a $3000 problem. We thought that two lousy space pac ac outlets in our first floor family room would cool the whole 1st floor (about 1,000 sf). We were wrong, and rather than install another central ac system on just the first floor, bought this. It sits in our DR - Chicago summers can get hot, so it often runs for days non-stop.

Cools Adequately

  • Summary: I bought this Danby Portable Air Conditioner Model Number: DPAC120068 a couple of months ago from a different supplier. I use it in my bedroom and have the rest of my apartment unairconditioned. It gets up to over 100 degrees Fahrenheit during the day and my room stays cool at 73 degrees. Dual Hose feature appealed to me so that no negative pressure is created bringing in hot air into to the room from outside.

Dont waste your money

SUSS, Amazon
1 June 2010
  • Summary: This item is a piece of junk! Cheap parts and poor construction make it a nightmare to operate and a problem waiting to happen. Within first month the thermostat stopped working. It will barely cool 400 SQ. Ft..and it is way too noisy. Customer service is very poor as well. Stay away from this turkey. If you buy it don't lose your receipt. You will need it.

not so cool, AJ Madison

  • Summary: This A.C. unit instruction guide is a mess. It doesn't explain how to install nothing, show any pics just incase or anything. I am a very educated college graduate and I have had various a/c units before and this thing is the hardest to get together. GOOD LUCK.
