Summary: Didn't really need another guitar but picked this up at a local shop and was really surprised by the tone. Great note articulation (the mahogany back and sides) and responds well to a light touch or a heavier hand. I flat pick and this guitar sounds great under the plectrum.
Pros: Beautiful tone, Excellent Fit and Finish, Excellent Playability, Unbelievably low price
Summary: I played this at a dealer in a room with high end Martins, Breedloves, Takamines. This guitar holds it own. Whatever difference I heard was not 2 grands worth and I bought it on the spot. Yamaha's rep for well made, great sounding guitars at a nice price is well deserved. The A.R.E.
Pros: Dread Like Cannonosity, Fit and finish, Great Complex Tone, Hardshell Case Included, Real Purty, Versatile Sounds
Summary: I used to have the regular Yamaha LS6 acoustic (see review) and cannot say enough about that surprisingly awesome unit... Best Bang for the Buck indeed. I did sell it and just purchased the new LS6 ARE... for 3 specific reasons.
Pros: A1 Quality Build, Fun to play, Lively Tone, Nice Resonance, Outstanding finish
Cons: Case Is Less Than Expecte, Inconsistant Wood Grain, Mediocre Case, No End Pin Cover
Excerpt: As with all guitars, a good setup is worth the trouble. All Yamaha guitars need the saddle shaved down a bit and replaced with bone. The Strings are a bit on the heavy side but once Custom Lights were put on... Perfection. You might have to have the Nut filed a bit as well. The finish is A1.
Excerpt: This guitar has to be one of the best kept secrets around. They are normally not on display in guitar stores in my city, but I happened to play a used one and was blown away! I immediately ordered myself a new one. The sound is fantastic, and very full for a small guitar.
Excerpt: I'm an intermediate learning classical and fingerstyle, which are basically the same skill sets. This guitar is solid, sounds great and compares favorably to my Martin GPCPA4. The price was right too, hard to imagine a better value.
Summary: Was looking for a smaller-bodied acoustic for use in my living room. This LS6 fit the bill. Have only had it a few weeks, and haven't done a proper check of the setup just yet, but I like the tone and playability seems fine. The girlfriend thinks it is pretty, and thats important, right?
Summary: Eine schöne Gitarre für den Preis, die tolle Bespielbarkeit out of the box hat. Mit den Originalseiten klingt die Gitarre schon warm und knackig, anscheinend waren 11er Saiten drauf. Die Seitenlage braucht man nicht mehr anpassen.
