Great Guitar for Beginners!

  • Summary: I bought 10 of these guitars for my beginning guitar class. They have held up very well, stayed in tune, and are fairly easy on the fingers for beginning students. I recommend them for grades 3 - 6, because they are the proper size for students' fingers and not too heavy for them to hold steadily. The cases are still in great shape after being hauled back and forth to school every week for 6 months. Best of all, customer service gave us an unbeatable price!

Good beginner guitar

  • Summary: My 10 year old daughter bought this guitar and loves it. The 3/4 size is comfortable, the wood construction feels solid, and the strings are not too high above the frets making easy playing. The steel strings, however, are hard for beginner's fingers with no calluses. If you're used to hearing a full deep mellow sound on a full-size guitar, you'll probably think this guitar sounds a bit tinny at first.

More info

  • Summary: This is a follow-up to my first review as I thought you might need more info. Okay, first of all, I'll be honest. I am very impressed with this guitar. Although, it is not for everybody. If you're buying it for a 10 or 11 year old, you've made the right choice. 12 year olds should look in to a full size. This works great as a first guitar, but you should plan on getting a different one as your child gets better.

Good buy with realsitic expectations

  • Summary: Have had the guitar for almost a month now. For the money you pay, workmanship is very good (as usual for Yamaha), no additional set-up was required with the action quite comfortable for me. Initially it had difficulty staying in tune and the sound was less than impressive, but this was due to the stock strings.

  • Summary: Die kleine Yamaha bietet erstaunlich viel für relativ kleines Geld.
