Summary: I was afraid I would become a sissy trying out & playing only the most expensive guitars (costing upwards in the $thousands) at the local guitar store. Expensive guitars tend to be easier to play-- generally, you don't have to press down on the strings as hard, so I wanted to try a great less expensive guitar that would give me more of a workout, but would still sound fantastic, and I found that with the fg730s.
Excerpt: I'm impressed but it is after all an intermediate guitar. But it just happen to be a nice sounding one. The tuners are useless. Put new tuners on for best results. In fact, put a bone saddle in the bridge and on the neck as well, for best result. Ok, now if you installed those correctly(you may need help with that)your done. It should sound pretty good. So after that, I might give it a 8+ or even a 9, for the money.
Summary: This yamaha is great for the price. Yamaha is known for just about anything and they have a pretty good reputation. This guitar has a solid top and an unbeatable price, so you cant really go wrong with it. However, I tried this guitar out and I found it to be just alright. I thought the neck was a little too thin, maybe it's cause I got used to the feel of my Seagull Slim. The tone was pretty balanced and clear, but some were muffled.
