It's a beauty, but a little dissapointed

Mick, Yamaha
6 March 2014
  • Summary: I was looking for a second preamped guitar that I could leave tuned down a 1/2 step for quick switches during coffee house and slightly rowdier bar performances. I play everything from Hank Williams Sr. to SRV, and getting older means it's getting harder to hit those high young Neil Young vocal notes. I decided to look at the A3R (vintage burst) because of the System63 SRT.
  • Pros: Acoustic Sound, Easy To Play, Excellent Craftsmanship
  • Cons: Srt Pu Changed

Outstanding Guitar

Jerry G, Yamaha
4 October 2013
  • Summary: I use the product to practice and play in small groups. It is very easy to play and has great sound. It is very well made and really beautiful. The only problem I had was that it arrived without some items (Truss Rod Adjuster, sound hole cover, battery, owner's manual) and the rep that was contacted did not respond to our request for these items. Otherwise, I am very satisfied.
  • Pros: Durable, Excellent Craftsmanship, Great Intonation, Great Sound, Highly Responsive

Best Guitar Purchase In A Long While

PK, Yamaha
22 July 2013
  • Summary: This is my first Yamaha and I absolutely love this guitar! I Pastor a church, lead worship and write music with my wife. I have a Takamine Cedar/Mahogany all solid wood and recently I parted with my Gibson Song Writer Deluxe Ovanghol that I never quite really bonded with and just wasn't satisfied with. This Yamaha was going to originally be the one I was going to purchase but the Gibson was just a great deal that I couldn't pass up at the time.
  • Pros: Excellent Craftsmanship, Great Sound, Highly Responsive

Craftsmanship blending with technology

21 July 2013
  • Summary: I am a live/recording musician.I was looking for a high quality live sound from a dreadnought style guitar to work in a band situation comprising of percussion,Bass, violin, lead acoustic/electric guitar. The A3R cuts through the mix and finds its place comfortably in that mix. It allows me flexable control over playing percussive, finger style or flatpicking. The build quality surpasses anything from any manufacturer in its price range or twice its price.
  • Pros: Control In Live Performan, Excellent Craftsmanship, Great Intonation, Great Sound, Highly Responsive, Playabilty, Professional Sound, Tone
  • Cons: Set Up On Arrival

Fantastic instrument in sound & quality

Atlanta Kid, Yamaha
11 June 2013
  • Summary: I have been a fan of Yamaha guitars since late 1970s and lately of the SRT electronics. I was looking for a more pronounce base (warmer, deeper) than what I was getting from my Yamaha CPX1000. So I consulted my Yamaha Sales guy "Jake Blake", as usual his honest and customer first attitude helped me narrow it down to the A3s, I chose A3R over A3M since rosewood is thought to have warmer tones etc… over mahogany.
  • Pros: Durable, Excellent Craftsmanship, Great Intonation, Great Sound, Highly Responsive
  • Cons: Truss Rod Adjustment

Hard to beat for the price

Noble Hops Ed, Yamaha

  • Summary: I gig once or twice a month in an acoustic duo. This is my go to guitar. I had to tweak the neck a little and wipe off some wax that was on the fret board (turned my finger tips black) but that was it. There seems to be some 'over kill' in the electronics. They have a lot of options and blending that you can do, but I've only found about 2 settings that are really useful. That said, they sound amazing. It lacks low-end unplugged and isn't very loud.
  • Pros: All Solid Wood, Amazing Electronics, Excellent Craftsmanship, Great Intonation
  • Cons: Not Loud Unplugged

A3R Vintage Sunburst

Tommyboy7772722, Yamaha
2 April 2013
  • Summary: I play in a band a few times a year and in a duo/solo gig a few more. I own several high-end guitars and this one is on par with all of them. The neck is more comfortable than my 34 year-old $2500.00 plus acoustic. The SRT preamp is far superior to any other guitar I've owned in the last 10 years. I have owned sound processor preamps in 3 different acoustics that don't come close to this guitar. That's enough comparing.
  • Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Excellent Craftsmanship, Great Intonation, Great looking, Great Sound, Highly Responsive
