Excerpt: This was a gift from a family member, intended to be a guitar I could take outside to play in the backyard while monitoring small children, or to play in the carport while grilling. It's usually found on a stand in the living room where it can be grabbed while en route somewhere. It's durable enough for that, and the sound is pretty rewarding - actually, highly rewarding for an inexpensive guitar. After I glued up the cracks and adjusted the truss rod, I had a few...
Summary: I purchased my first S6 over 15 years ago and after countless hours and gigs in all kind of conditions, I'm pleased to say it's still going strong. I purchased this one for my daughter so I could get mine back ( but I have to say, I'm having a hard time giving it to her : ) Keep doing good work Seagull!
Summary: I'm a beginner, maybe a little intermediate, i've played many guitars, and i can say this seagull, has the quality of sound, as one of the one thousand dollars martins out there, for less than half the price, everything in this guitar says quality, from the headstock to the body, it has a great sustain!
Summary: I decided to order this guitar based on the reputation that it is has for being one of the best acoustics under 500. The package arrived on 1/18/2012. I was a little worried after reading some of the other reviews about improper packaging, but my particular shipment was packaged perfectly. As far as the actual guitar, it's incredible. It has the sound and playability of a much more expensive instrument.
Five Stars for Amazon's Customer Services. 1 Star for the Packaging.

Summary: Like other reviewers have noted, the guitar was packaged poorly for shipment. Mine arrived in a flimsy, beat-up cardboard box that was torn in places, with the guitar wrapped with a thin foam sheet. As a result, there was some cosmetic damage to the wood. I was really unhappy at first. But then Amazon customer service saved the day. They really do care about their customers and I am pleased with how they handled my complaint.
Summary: When I opened the box I found that the guitar was broken to pieces!!! There was one sheet of brown paper for packing material. The neck was broken at the head, and the body was crushed. On close inspection, it was obvious that guitar had been first damaged prior to leaving the supplier, but the guitar was boxed and shipped just the same. The exterior box had been crushed in the shipping process even further damaging the contents. This was a waste of time (A lot of time.
