Summary: The 7.1 sound field is breath-taking, giving new meaning to "home theatre". Tuning each speaker to the size and accoutics of the room is a major deal-maker. I have both blue-ray and 3D TV in the system and the RX-Z7 makes movie-going obsolete. I use HDMI connections for all video inputs.

Summary: I've had mine for a couple of months and am completely pleased with the purchase. At first I had my doubts, since I've always had much more expensive component systems. This is my fourth Yamaha receiver, but the others I used for the kids, and for the whole-house stereo system.
Summary: This is a truly outstanding receiver amplifier with ever possible capability one could want. I waited to buy because I had followed the Audioholics Discussion Forum where there were some concerns expressed about blue lines or spots in the video.
