Summary: I got this product for the Optical inputs as my older plasma TV has only an optical audio out AND it had phono inputs!!. The fact that this received had so much more was a bonus. I still have a record collection and a good turntable so I needed the phono inputs and finding a receiver that had both phono and optical inputs at a great price was a challenge.
Summary: nice reciever in good condition. still a relevant reciever after 12 years.yamaha has proven to be a quality product after years of problems with sony ES recievers, this is my second in two years. my first (rv2600) is still performing perfectly.
Summary: I bought a Yahmha RX-V995 surround receiver 10 years ago, paid $1,000. i love it and the sound can feel the lower decibels. this receiver made minimize error sound. this is a receiver for whom love sound.
Summary: In the day this unit came out, it list for about $999.00. That was a few years ago. The unit has all options that I can see except XR radio of which I don't need. I got it from a great seller for $125.00 and I sure enjoy it. Yamaha makes very good equipment. It has so many options, I may never use half of them. It has 5 channels at 100 watts per channel also connections for a power active subwoffer.
Summary: At the tiime these were being sold, I could not afford one. Had recently been through a divorce and was basically starting over. Ended up wiith a lessor model Yahama and loved it but always wanted a top of the line unit. About fiive months ago i found one on ebay and could not beleive it was selling for the price asked. Went for it and got it. Hooked it up immediately and went iiinto awe. This thing will blow away almost any 7.1 unit I have heard and considered buying.
Summary: I auditioned many amplifiers out there at the local Audio Stores like Circuit City, Best Buy, Frys Electronics, Ultimate Electronics, the only HT receiver I found that really Impressed was a $1200 Onkyo,, I then found this Yamaha at a Audio shop that sells fix and repair,, I listened to it with every speaker they had and it blew away most of their vintage equipment and everything else out there except the Yamaha RX-V2400,, I then went and bought the 995 on ebay in mint...
Summary: I've had this receiver since 2001 and it is a great powerhouse and workhorse for a mass market, consumer machine. This was one of their top of the line moedls and it still amazes me with how clean it makes my Klipsch-RF3 towers sound when listening to cds or watching Star Wars. Great solid build and archetecture. DSPs are decent for the most part and you'll soon find which ones you like or dislike.
