The Yamaha RX-V863 is equipped to use an optional Yamaha Universal iPod Dock which allows users to connect iPods to the device. The optional dock allows users to listen to music. Users can operate their iPod using the Yamaha RX-V863 remote control while charging the battery on their iPod. This product is also equipped to use an optional YBA-10 Bluetooth® Wireless Audio Receiver which allows users to connect the dock to the receiver and enables A2DP audio streaming. The optional YBA-10 Bluetooth dock enables users to enjoy music wirelessly from Bluetooth enabled mobile phones, portable devices, or personal computers.

Yamaha RX-V863 offers support for several HD Audio formats such as: Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby Digital TrueHD, DTS-HD High Resolution Audio and DTS-HD Master Audio. This model is 1080p-compatible HDMI (3 in/1 out) and also XM and SIRIUS Satellite Radio ready. This device allows users to choose between 150 digital channels of music, news, sports, talk and entertainment from America’s number one Satellite Radio service. This AV receiver is compatible with iPods and uses BlueTooth Technology.

Yamaha RX-V863 is equipped with 8 additional input jacks for discrete multi-channel input. Front (Left, Center, Right), Rear (Surround Left & Right, Surround Back Left & Right) and Subwoofer. This product also offers other functions such as CINEMA DSP, SILENT CINEMA and Virtual CINEMA DSP, YPAO sound optimization (for automatic speaker setup), Compressed Music Enhancer,Superior multi-zone control compatibility, Digital ToP-ART (Total Purity Audio Reproduction Technology) and four SCENE buttons which offer greater operating ease (with 19 preset SCENE templates).

  • I bought the yamaha rx-v863 in january of 2010 from bestbuy.

    After about a month, it started shutting off while we were watching tv. I went through the manual and trouble shot it, but nothing worked. I tried taking it back to best buy, but I used cash and lost my reciept. Yamaha told me without a reciept, they can't honor their 2 year warranty. I had a comp. tech look at it, and they said it had a defective board, and would cost $600 to repair. I paid $500 for it brand new. Do I have any other options, or am I screwed?! Thanks

  • Running laptop through yamaha RX-V863 to TV via HDMI

    What I have to do to play a Blu-Ray disc on my laptop Acer 8920G via HDMI through my yamaha RX-V863 to TV via HDMI? I can transmit the desktop, but it appears "too big" on the TV and when a Blu Ray movie begins, TV screen goes black and there is no sound. At the same time on my laptop everything is OK - very good picture and sound.OS is Vista Ultimate, Nvida GeForce 9600 driver updated. Any idea which setting I should change?
