Summary: I bought this unit as an upgrade to an earlier Yamaha unit that only had 5.1 and no HDMI. I went through three different Yamaha units before settling on the 775. I love the 7.2 capabilities for home theater. More importantly, Yamaha always provides the pre-amp outputs necessary for audiophiles to bypass the system for audiophile equipment. The 24 bit Burr Brown DAC has been a staple in audiophile equipment for years.
Pros: Accurate Controls, Easy To Set Up, Good Power Output, Good Remote Control, Great Sound Quality, Lots Of Output Ooptions, Pre-amp Outs For High End
Summary: I use this product in a home theater/stereo music application. It replaced a high end Sony unit I had for many years. So far it has performed up to my expectations. If you don't have an HDMI connected TV, set-up is complicated, time consuming and many of features aren't available for use. However; it provides a good migration platform. I am using my older VCR, DVD and TV, with the ability to connect newer components as needed.
Pros: Good Power Output, Good Remote Control, Great Sound Quality
Summary: This receiver is ready for now and tomorrow. Very easy to use, and loads of features I am still learning how to utilize. Set up was easy, but a paper manual would have been really nice to have.
Summary: This is my first Yamaha AV receiver and coming from an Onkyo was a little worried it would not be as good. Boy was I wrong. The set up was super easy, the sound quality is amazing and over power is out of this world. I listen to a lot of Flac files and love to listen to them loud, the clarity of this unit is superb. I have not had a chance to play with the EQ yet but will get around to that soon. Overall, I love this unit.
Pros: Decodes Flac, Easy To Set Up, Good Power Output, Great Base Response, Great Sound Quality, Great Surround
Cons: Getting Used To Menus, No Hdmi Out 4 Comp Input
Summary: I read many reviews before I dropped the hammer and bought one and so glad I did. Many reviews stated that it was complicated to set up but I did not have that problem. This unit replaced an Onkyo so the menu's were a little to get used to but once I got over that set up was easy. As far as the WIFI goes, I did not have a problem because I connected via ether net cable. The sound it incredible, the video is crystal clear and it has a ton of HDMI inputs.
Summary: Words can't express just how happy I am with this unit. As soon as I connected with my wireless unit it went out and down loaded firmware updates. Connecting to my wireless network was surprisingly simple.
Pros: Accurate Controls, Easy To Set Up, Good Power Output, Good Remote Control, Great Sound Quality
Summary: 3/8/2014 Only been set-up for a few days no problems. The sound quality imo is excellent. Like the wifi. Net radio is good. Plenty power to my polk tsx 440 towers tsx 150c center bic sub. Receiver runs warm but not at all hot. Front shows finger prints easy. Needed to use lap top to set-up wifi but not that big a deal. No hdmi handshake issues.I couldn't be happier.
Pros: Accurate Controls, Easy To Set Up, Good Power Output, Great Sound Quality
