Summary: I've had this receiver for about 2 months now and so far it has been great! (with one issue I'll get to later). First, the sound is awesome! The YPAO configured the settings perfectly. I have everything connecting to the TV and the TV hooked up to the receiver via 1 dhmi cable. I'm utiliziing the ARC. Everytime time I turn on and off the tv, the receiver turns on and off. I can also control the sound via the TV remote. The wifi on the device works great as well.
Summary: I'm strictly a music guy, so I'd searched for close to a year trying to find a simple (but good quality) 2-channel receiver. The only problem is, I like to use four speakers-so what I was listening to with my trusty Denon Dra-395 was 'artificial' surround sound. The man at the stereo store said, "You can't do that!" So I finally settled for a Pioneer 7.2 channel surround sound receiver. Not happy!
Pros: Easy To Set Up, Good Remote Control, Great Sound Quality
Summary: the iPhone app is great.....especially when my kids have the sound turned up too loud. With the app i can control the volume from anywhere in the house....and if they are not listening i can turn off the TV by turning off the receiver.
Pros: I love the ability of this receiver to integrate with my cable remote to turn off/on, volume, etc with the TV. Also I can use my Samsung Tab 4 tablet as a master control with the Android app for input (Pandora, TV, DVD, Netflix, Google Play, etc), volume control, on/off, broadcast with Chrome Cast. all from my comfortable chair. The YPAO sound balance is amazing and saves a ton of time setting up.
Summary: I bought this to set up a basic 2.1 system in my bedroom and it's doing the job beautifully. So much that I'm thinking about swapping it with my trusty rx-v596 that's the center of my living room home theater system. I have the yamaha bluetooth receiver hooked up to it, my roku and an lg smart tv. Along with the remote app on my phone I can control everything with ease from the comfort of my bed. For speakers I went with polk RTiA3's and a psw-505.
Pros: Accurate Controls, Android App Remote, Connectivity, Easy To Set Up, Good Power Output, Great Sound Quality
Summary: Love this receiver once it was wired correctly. (Need a little better initial set-up manual. But once we got the "on-screen menu" working, it was easy to program and operate. One drawback is adjusting the equalizer. It takes too much time to adjust each individual speaker to individual taste and it's hard to adjust even on-screen. The Wi-Fi is excellent and sound quality is great. I especially like the fact that it's controllable form my computer. Awesome.
Pros: Accurate Controls, Good Remote Control, Great Sound Quality
