Summary: It's an older 2013 model, but does what I want. My setup - 5.1 speakers, 1080p LED TV, BluRay, Apple TV, Wii; wired ethernet; Logitech Harmony remote with IR repeater (So I can hide devices in a cabinet) Tons of features - here are my favorites - 1) ON SCREEN GUI that overlays on picture - I can set...
Summary: Entry level to Mid tier A/V equipment The Good: Receiver does not have high pitch noise as the budget minded Yamaha RX V371 which is audible within 2-3FT in silent rooms. Very clean and crisp sound.
Summary: Very nice receiver. This is the second Yamaha receiver I have owned and I have been very satisfied with them. I used to always buy Sony, but for the price the Yamaha has more features. The price on this receiver (new) was very good although it isn't the latest model.

Summary: This is a solid AVR with nice features, a nice on screen display, and great sound. However, you should not this is NOT HDMI 2.0 and will only pass through 4k at 30Hz. To get an HDMI 2.0 receiver checkout the RX-V677 which will pass through 4k at 60Hz.

Summary: Got it on sale and works great. Might be last year's model but couldn't pass up the sale price.i have had issues using the YPAO since it configured my sub to where it would almost it Perhaps it's due to the large open room is in?
Summary: UPDATE: So I own two of these receivers (purchased on the same day.) One of them has severe network connectivity problems. If you read about Yamaha's wireless dongle, you'll find many user complaints. I believe the problem stems from the receiver itself as opposed to the wireless connection point.
Each of the source components connect just fine directly to the TV using the same (in-wall) cable

Summary: Very frustrating -- the whole reason that I bought this particular receiver was for the HDMI switching, and it does not work. The receiver won't connect to the TV -- the HDMI Out light just blinks, and the TV screen flickers off and on.

Summary: I got this receiver in the black friday week at bargain price. First things first: The sound is just excellent. While I was not per se looking for many of the functions (including room 2, the internet connectivity), I do end up using them.
Summary: Will spare you the details since others have written plenty. One thing maybe not mentioned already is the inputs are not pre-labeled (dvd, tv, phono, etc). You have hdmi 1, hdmi 2, component 1, component 2, etc. Usually we need a chart to remember what is plugged in where.
Summary: This unit exceeded my expectations. I'm old. I don't hear as well as I used to, but what I DO hear is fantastic! I remember the days when amps were tubes instead of microchips. Equalizers were unknown, at least to me. The ability to control so many features, like the "music" button, seems magical.
