Summary: Finally I can hear the voices in the movies I replaced my 2003 era Pioneer receiver with this Yamaha specifically because it advertised that it made the voices stand out in movies. This was our number one complaint with the old Pioneer -we could not understand the voices in movies on way too many occasions. And it wasn't for lack of trying every sound mode they had. Well the Yamaha has come through in flying colors.
Pros: Easy To Set Up, Good Remote Control, Great Sound Quality
I upgraded from an older Yamaha receiver I've had for 10 years...

Summary: and this doesn't disappoint. I kept my old speaker system in place and just swapped out the receiver. The HDMI component connections are great for all the components that make up my visual media set up (HD Cable, Chromecast, BDVD, etc.). I do have one complaint though but it's a fairly small one.
Summary: Once I located the web setup feature I was able to change the name of the inputs and assign audio to video inputs. These were the two complaints i had with the equipment. There was no documentation about this even being an option with this equipment. Had to search through lots of web forums to find it.
Pros: Accurate Controls, Easy To Set Up, Energy Efficient, Good Power Output, Good Remote Control, Great Sound Quality

This was our number one complaint with the old Pioneer -we could not understand the voices in movies on way too many occasions. And it wasn't for lack of trying every sound mode they had. Summary: The Android app doesn't take advantage of a tablet screen. It's optimized for phones. Not sure if the iPad version is the same (I don't own one).
Pros: Very easy to use, sounds great, has more connectivity than you'll ever need at this price point. I like that it's not restricted to HDMI-only.
Cons: The on-screen UI looks very dated. The UI is not resolution-independent, and is simply displayed 1:1. This means that the menus look large when overlaid on a 480i stream, and tiny at 1080p. In all modes, the UI is not as slick as you'd expect from a 2013-era piece of electronics. Having said that, it is functional, and gets the job done. Most of the time, I prefer to use the Android control app instead.
Pros: Bought the Yamaha RX-V375 Receiver to replace outdated Yamaha equipment bought more than 20 years ago that still performs like new. Conducted extensive research to find a high quality unit with the features and functions that would satisfy my needs and budget and arrived at the RX-V375 or RX-V475. Since I have Apple TV installed on my TV, the RX-V375 was a great solution for my needs at a good price. Since I really like Yamaha equipment based on previous experience, I...
Summary: This is a great product with very easy connection/setup process. I'm very tech savvy, but relatively new to the large home theater market. The process of setup from start to finish was very quick. Logical layout and clearly marked connections make this easy. The remote and on-screen setup are intuitive and easy to follow.
Pros: Easy To Set Up, Good Power Output, Good Remote Control, Great Sound Quality
Summary: Bought this unit to replace my Yamaha RX-V692 which was no longer compatible with the new TV (still works great), new and old components hooked up no problem. The sound quality is awesome; if you have a smart TV this unit seems to tie in with it and any unit not running through the receiver that is plugged directly into the TV in my case a Wii the sound goes through the surround speakers rather than the TV speakers. This unit does it all for a good price.
Pros: Accurate Controls, Easy To Set Up, Good Power Output, Good Remote Control, Great Sound Quality
Summary: I've used Yamaha Receivers and components for 30+ years and every one has been flawless after several years of heavy use. This receiver is a great upgrade to the 21st Century -- convergence of traditional audio/video sources with the newest streaming technologies. I won't go into all the features; you can read about those. I'll talk about my use and how well it works.
