Excerpt: The setup of the system with my Onkyo speakers was quite easy. I love the sound quality and its features. I have the zone 2 wired to 2 outside speakers, and while sitting outside having a beverage, with the I-phone app, I can easily turn on and off the zone, set the source for the zone, play xm-radio or a playlist through rhapsody, pick/skip songs, and adjust the volume. I cannot think of a feature I would add right now.
Pros: Clear Sound, Easy To Set Up, Good Remote, Interfaces Well With TV, Intuitive Controls
Summary: Excellent sound with numerous features. Love the ipad app but hate the Yamaha remote. It lacks several basic function keys and does not work well with my Comcast cable box. All in all, I think this is the perfect receiver for those that want more than just a base model unit. I really enjoy having 2 independent zones. I hope there is a firmware update that will allow for Dolby Atmos.
First the sound quality is amazing, I have not yet changed the speakers

Summary: This was purchased as an upgrade to an older Onkyo system that was 7.1. The upgrades are clear. First the sound quality is amazing, I have not yet changed the speakers. Having more than a passing interest in audio I expected this to sound better, but my family was skeptical. As soon as this was connected and configured I gathered people in the living room for a test, and we were all surprised about how much better Music and TV sounded.
It has a wide amount of settings and the Kindle audio app for it works pretty good. I bought it because of Yamaha's reputation .

Summary: Does everything I wanted it to .It has a wide amount of settings and the Kindle audio app for it works pretty good.I bought it because of Yamaha's reputation for quality hardware and sound. While music doesn't sound quite as full as my old pro-logic Marantz that could be because I haven't got it fully tuned in yet.For movies especially 7.1 movies thou it really shines. My set up is Front: Klipsh Heresy II's,Center:Klipsh RC 62,Front Sub Velodyne VDR-10BV:Side Satellites...
Awesome entry/mid level receiver with abundant features.

Summary: Ordered through amazon and received it in two days. There is no paper manual with instructions, but there is a CD that you can load for the complete manual. However for anyone with basic knowledge in home theater electronics, setup should be no brainer. I have a 7.1 setup and a dedicated home theater room with Polk RTIA5 fronts, CSIA6 center and 80F/X-RT surrounds with a BIC F12 sub.
Summary: Have spent approx. 8 hours trying to get zone 2 working along with Video interface. Over 1 hour on the phone with technical services has been very little help. Have read blogs and many issues with what I have just mentioned. Almost figured out 75% of issues. Maybe in a few months I'll be able to operate without reprogramming every time I want to use zone 2. No sound when we use Netflix yet?
Summary: Alot of good things in this: 1. Airplay 2. Cool remote 3. Super nice app on Ipad or Iphone i have connected this with my Boston Acoustics SoundWare XS 5.1 Special Edition Home Theater Speakers (Black), the System looks dam sexy with the reciver!!! Only couple of things, 1. sometimes the reciever doesn't shutdown when i shut my tv off (I have connect with hdmi). 2. We need to manually switch the sound output of reciever while starting up. Over all satisfactory...
Summary: This is a great receiver that provides clear crisp audio output. I am very pleased with the results but will warn folks that it takes a while to get set up. The manual is thorough but takes time to work through and decipher. Once everything has been setup the end result will provide many hours of pleasure. The YPAO speaker setup was a breeze and certainly made the correct adjustments for the room. Do not hesitate to buy this one as you will not be sorry.
