Summary: I purchased this receiver, and I have DirectTV in my home. This receiver is not compatible with the new content protection protocol HDCP 2.2 in the DirectTV receiver, and Yamaha's super un-helpful response was as follows: "Apologize for the inconvenience. The RX-V667 does not support HDCP 2.2.
Summary: I purchased this unit in February of this year. It was a great unit for the first three months. At that time the display went bad on the front. It would display characters that I can best describe as the old wingdings font.
Summary: I loved this unit for about 5 months. 5 months is all it lasted. Yesterday, the zone 2 would shut down the unit after a few minutes, and today, it would shut down after 2 seconds. The kick in the pants was that Yamaha only honors warranty for units bought at factory retailers.
Summary: When I ordered this reciever I was suppose to recieve a set of RM-75 Polk speakers $199 value as a promotional offer. To my surprise the reciever showed up with no speakers, I called customer service and after talking to several people they told that no such offer was offered.
Pros: Had nice sound for the short amount of time that it worked.
Cons: Received new from Newegg 6 weeks ago. Now a totally dead receiver and will not turn on. Not a very good showing for Yamaha. Have had my two Pioneer Elite receivers for 15 and 5 year years with no problems at all. No more Yamaha products for me!
