WARNING: LIKELY NOT AVAILABLE!!!!!

J. Keatts, Amazon
21 October 2009
  • Summary: I've now tried ordering this item through Amazon with two different vendors. The first was Electronics Expo who, after I ordered the Yamaha RX-V663BL, sent me an email to tell me that they did not have this item in stock, and they wanted to replace my order with the RX-V665BL, claiming it was the...

Premium Amp

E. Brown, Amazon
14 September 2008
  • Summary: Very satisfied with sound quality and easy setup. This unit replaced a 2003 version of the Yamaha amp and the sound quality is significantly improved. You sometimes wonder if you need to upgrade these amps, but apparently so as we are very happy with the improvements in this unit.

Yamaha RX-V663BL 665 Watt 7.1 receiver

Sally, Amazon
14 September 2008
  • Summary: I'm a regular person, not a tech wizard. I purchased this receiver after checking online and with Consumer Reports, which gave information on the preceding model, for use with a Sony 60" HD TV operating on DirecTV, with 6 speakers and a blu ray.

Great Receiver... but Nintendo Wii owners take note

Nate, Amazon
14 September 2008
  • Summary: This is a great receiver for the price...has many features only some high end models have. The sound is great, very easy to setup, and very clean design. Nintendo Wii owners take note However, one thing that was not taken into consideration is the placement of the inputs on the back.

Boom for your Buck!

William Carroll, Amazon
14 September 2008
  • Summary: You get a lot of boom for your buck with this A/V receiver. I was replacing an older HTIB Onkyo - which had been great, but I wanted to upgrade to HDMI and a bit more power. I got all that and more in this mid-range receiver.

For The Price, Can't Be Beat!

Jay Friedman, Amazon
14 September 2008
  • Summary: I looked around and this seemed to be tied with the Onkyo 606. The one negative comment everyone said about the Onkyo was that it tends to run 'hot.' Well, I keep my receive in a fairly small, not all that well-ventilated place, so I didn't want to risk it. I'm glad I went with the Yamaha.

Lots of problems with mine.

Gary A. Rice, Amazon
14 September 2008
  • Summary: I really wanted this receiver to work! It's feature set and sound is fantastic, expecially for the money! The unit I got had a lot of trouble switching HDMI. Lots of artifacts and digital noises. I bypassed HDMI and the unit worked OK for a few days.

Would recommend

moonlighteye, Amazon
14 September 2008
  • Summary: This has been a great receiver so far and I would easily recommend it to others. If you hate watching a movie only to be blasted by loud commercials (they are engineered this way by the commercial producers themselves), this receiver can help.

Big sound-small volume

Al the Hoople, Amazon
14 September 2008
  • Summary: I live in a small apartment in Greenwich Village, so really can't play music/movies very loud. As soon as I set this up I noticed a vast improvement in the sound quality from my existing speakers in an 18X24 room.

The best bang for your receiver buck!

E's Opinion, Amazon
14 September 2008
  • Summary: I had always thought that the realm of stereos & grilling were best left to the guys. But when I finally pulled the trigger on a gorgeous 46" plasma, I realized that I couldn't wait any longer for my knight with shiny stereo equipment to show up.
