Summary: I've owned this since 2008 and I'm not interested in the junk they have now! It has incredible clear, loud quality better than theater sound! The new model is 90 watts not 95 and the 3d feature we saw were that went! No issues since I've had it! Buy it!
Summary: I'm writing this review to express my disappointment with the direction Yamaha has taken with their newer AV receivers. I have always owned Yamaha receivers since roughly 1980, and up till now have been a loyal fan. I currently own an RX-Z9, an HTR-5940, and unfortunately, an RX-V663.
Summary: Purchased the receiver, used, but looked new when I received it. Configured as part of a home theater setup, including an iPod dock, and it works great. I use 4-ohm speakers and the amplifier had no problem driving the load.
Summary: This a very fine receiver,I purchased my first unit at Best Buy the sound was great. I purchased another 2 units on E Bay and now I have a system in our living room, a second system in our family room in the basement, and the third system on the second floor.
Summary: The main selling point of this receiver is its HD Audio capabilities (Dolby TrueHD and DTS Master-Audio)and this was my main motivating factor for purchasing the RX-V663. Upgrading from a Denon AVR-1706, I was not sure what to expect from Yamaha.
Summary: This thing is amazing. Right out of the box you plug it in, turn it on, and it works great. There are plenty of input and output options. Then there are advanced features that are well beyond anything I could ever imagine using. For having 600W of power I am AMAZED how cool it stays
Summary: The small printed tips was hard to read for me and difficult to understand. Maybe a geek can figure it out but after a month of owning this product it's not easy for me to understand. But most people can probably figure out all the settings.
