  • Summary: We could not get the Zone B speakers to operate separately from the main surround sound set of speakers. The customer service # is a joke, 45 minutes on hold and then we just gave up. They won't publish a working email address to contact customer service. Very frustrating company to try to deal with. There is no Owner's Manual just a CD you must down load when ever you have a question.

  • Summary: I don't like having to switch between HDMI on my TV so, when I have an entire weekend to waste, I'll reconfigure the thing to run it all through the single HDMI out. Right now, the shortcut buttons on the receiver and remove are Hell-bent for leather to run TV sound from the TV to the optical in, but I want to run the HDMIs from the xfinity x1 box, AppleTV, Dell computer and Karaoke player through the receiver and then all through the one HDMI out, so I don't have to use...

Airplay doesn't consistently work; Subwoofer has a mind of it's own.

  • Summary: The reason for the 2 stars is one of the main features for me, Airplay, isnt always working. Sometimes it works and sometimes none of my 4 air play devices can pick it up. Also the subwoofer will randomly turn off while watching tv or a movie, and then come back on anywhere from 1 to 10 minutes later, which is annoying and also obviously something it should not do.

  • Summary: After going through feedback, I bought Yamaha. After couple of weeks, it is not powering on. After research, I noticed the power surge is an issue. I returned this product and ordered for replacement. Keeping my fingers crossed!!

Frustrated by frequently having to reset the device

  • Summary: So I bought this receiver about a year ago, and was pretty excited about it based on the reviews I read, coupled with the price and features of the product. After initially setting it up and feeling my way through the configuration, I was pretty happy with it. I have outside speakers on the patio which are run off Zone-B, and we were having a party for my son where we would be watching a movie on the patio and streaming the audio through Airplay.

Not for 4 ohm speakers

  • Summary: I have owned Yamaha receivers in the past, and was looking to replace my 15 year old (5.2 channel) model with something newer. This receiver seemed to fit the bill. I sent it back unopened, however, when I learned that (according to Yamaha customer service) they do not currently make a product that supports 4 ohm speakers.
