Summary: I received the last refurbished one that was available. I now know why. It works fine, however, the cabinet is all scratched and the information window is clouded so bad in some places that it is very hard to read. I'm planning on returning it and asking for a refund.
Wouldn't buy a product from Yamaha again. Bought this ...
Ben V Truong, Amazon
20 August 2014
Summary: Wouldn't buy a product from Yamaha again. Bought this receiver and It's not working after 40 days. Took it to repair center and they told me that I have to wait for parts up to 8 weeks. They have warranty it for 1 year but let customer wait for almost 2 month. What a customer service. Never buy anything from Yamaha again.
Summary: I bought this because it was on sale and the price was really a good deal. However, the unit I got was defective. It wasn't producing the lower frequency sound needed to activate the subwoofers no matter what setup I do. So, I tested the speakers with another receiver and they were all functioning perfectly. I also tried all the possible speaker configurations but to no avail.
Yamaha receivers not compatible with Direct TV Remotes
Dr. Gail Russell Hall, Amazon
23 November 2013
Summary: Product is not compatible with Direct TV Remotes. Seems Yamaha requires separate functions for on and off. Remotes of all types do not work with this receiver.Neither Direct TV nor Yamaha bother to mention this in their literature. Direct TV techs were either unaware or told to be unaware and Yamaha customer service was quite arrogant when called and said it "wasn't their problem". I find it to be a problem for Yamaha and Direct TV.
Summary: If you are an audiofile of the 70s, 80s and/or 90s, then this Yamaha RX-V575, like all other digital toys sold these days, will drive you nuts. Unfortunately, Yamaha is no longer a Professional audio company. They’re out to compete with all the other digital garbage manufactures. This unit was easy to hook up, but only because there was very little to hook up. No turntable to connect, no cassette deck to connect, no equalizer to hook up.
