Summary: I actually should have purchased the 5.1 receiver but I ended up going with the 7.1. My only complaint is that when I turn it to my blue ray player to automatically goes to "straight" mode and not surround sound.
Summary: I bought a marantz SR5005 and it died in 2 months. Local dealer were not willing to repair it under warranty. Bought this as a replacement. It is far more reliable than the marantz and works as advertised. The only complaint is the display does not show the current audio format (DTS,DOLBY).
Summary: Got this receiver for a combination AV/Karaoke system with 5.1 speakers. All the other popular AV receivers seemed to have some severe drawback (features which didn't work) mentioned in the reviews, while the Yamaha reviews were clean.
Summary: This is a very good receiver. The sound is excellent when paired with good speakers and speaker wires. I am using the Energy 5.1 system. It looks great as well, which a black shine that goes with most entertainment system decors. The upscaling and pass-thru of video is top quality.
Summary: Exactly as others describe, probably the best Receiver in this price range. 4 Stars only because when you try and route hdmi through the Receiver then the TV, it has caused picture problems (from a mac) and sound problems (xbox-no center output). I would buy again.
Summary: Great receiver with video upscaling at modest price! Now all my signals go to TV with just one HDMI cable, instead of all the 3-color, RCA and HDMI inputs to the television from the receiver. the setup was easy, including speaker tuning for the room and it sounds terrific!
Summary: The Yamaha RX-v571 met my expectations and works great for my needs. Looks nice, unimposing, and has wonderful sound. I was able to bi-amp my front towers easily. And once I diagnosed the radio interference was coming from a bad subwoofer cable, the system is completely quiet of extraneous noise.
Summary: Falling about in the middle of the Yamaha new receiver line-up, this is a solid receiver with many of the bells and whistles you'd find on a more expensive model. The sound is excellent, the features are many and the power is fine enough for my room and my needs with room to spare.
Summary: I bought this unit to upgrade my home theater to HDMI sound. The setup with the microphone was quick and easy and created a well balanced sound field. I was pleased that as volume is increased upto 50% the decebel level correspondingly decreases causing less distortion.
