Summary: This receiver is a good choice for those who are starting a new system or even upgrading an older Yamaha receiver like me. It has good sound, a little too much trebble initially (before tweaks and break in) but once you hook up a sub to it...look out.
Summary: There seems to be a confusion with the power of this receiver. 180 Watt total or per channel. If the total output power is 180 what is output per channel. The current listing would certainly not help....
Summary: It works just fine but my Uverse receiver picture quality through the HDMI's was dissapointing. I am replacing this unit with a Sony ES receiver that was literally twice as much. The amplifier section is the weak part in my opinion it has a dull/flat almost life less sound stage perhaps the Aventage...
Summary: If this is the first receiver you have ever owned you might be impressed. However, I have owned a number of these machines over the years and the sound quality was decent, but nothing more. I used the receiver for 17 days and ran it through a slew of tests. I am a speaker nut.
Summary: I am just a dad who decided to upgrade the family entertainment set-up by purchasing an LG 65LW6500 3-D TV (a barrel of fun I might add), a Sony S770 Blu-ray player, and this Yamaha A/V receiver.
Summary: I bought this with a Mirage Nanosat. I was venturing into Home Theater setup for the first time. As soon as I received it, I set it up and played 'Forbidden Kingdom' in Blu-ray[Thats the only one I had at that time], and instantaneously I had a grin that stretched from one ear to the other.
Summary: Incredible versatile for multiple uses, situations. Have placed it in large 22' X 28' room for surround sound with mini home theater, added extra multiple speakers with switch to supplement sound to kitchen area when desired. Quality is superb. Can highly recommend.
Summary: I purchased this receiver a few months back (3, possibly 4) for a bedroom setup. I absolutely love the set up I have in my living room, with a much more expensive receiver, but figured I'd try save a few bucks since it was just a bedroom.
