Summary: Item came in 5 days and was a serious upgrade to my other old AV unit. Your rear speakers have to be wireed directly to the unit or they will not sound right. All in all Yamhaw with Dolby Labs invented the home theater system.
Summary: I just had to upgrade my Sony A/V STR-970. I needed HDMI in a big way. Downsizing to a smaller entertainment center, I really needed to clean up a few secret treasures concealed by my bigger cabinet. So, the hunt was on for the best A/V Home Theater receiver for the buck. I found a Yamaha RX-V567 $479 MSRP for $215 Free S+H. The specs and reviews were spot on. The 567 was to become the mothership of my home theater.
Summary: I ordered this system and received an upgraded one, which was 840 watts instead of what ever this receiver is...this thing is a beast, and I still have not been able to turn it up all the way because it is so loud
Summary: I purchased this in March 2011 and for last month and a half there is a loud while from the receiver making it impossible to use. I haven't had a chance to take it to the service center but for a receiver that new, I shouldn't be experiencing this issue. Update: Took it to the service center in december but they couldn't duplicate the whine that was coming out of the receiver. Got it back and sure enough, after watching for an hour or so the whine/buzz would start again.
Summary: THIS RECEIVER HAS THE "EASY FUNCTION" SET BUTTONS IN THE FRONT FOR PEOPLE NOT "TECHNICALLY INCLINED" FOR AN UNDERSTANDING OF DIGITAL RECEIVERS. IT BASICALLY HAS "IDIOT BUTTONS" IF YOU DO NOT KNOW HOW YO READ THE DIRECTIONS TO THE MANUAL. VERY SIMPLE AND COMES WITH A UNIVERSAL TYPE OF REMOTE.
Solid receiver - 3D pass thru works with firmware upgrade
31 July 2011
Summary: I purchased this over a year now, along with Klipsch HD 500 for a small room home theater surround sound. The receiver is solid overall. Nice sound system, 4 input HDMI sources which are good enough for me. Can turn off the 2 surround in 7.1 for 5.1 setup. The main HDMI source is from my older, PS2 backward compatible PS3 console. Other input including from Dish Network DVR, an HDTV with net apps, and a DVD player.
Summary: NICE PIECE OF EQUIPMENT, PURCHASED THIS AS A GIFT, BUT OF COURSE TO GOOD TO BE TRUE, NO WIRES INCLUDED IN THE BOX, WRONG REMOTE CONTROL SENT, NO COVER FOR THE BATTERY PART ON THE "WRONG: REMOTE CONTROL SENT. WTH, WHAT AN EMBARRASSMENT!
