Summary: This company lies. The Yamaha receiver was advertised as new on Amazon. I received it a couple of hours ago and opened the packet with the manual to read it. The manual had handwritten notes all over it and obviously had been used by another individual who made connection notes in the manual.
Summary: I got around this problem by hooking all components to my TV and then using a fiber optic cable from the TV to the receiver.
Pros: Sounds great with Klipsch HD 500 speakers!
Cons: Had lots of issues with the HDMI passthrough.**I may be incorrect.** I was unable to change the surround audio presets while using my blu-ray player. I tried everything in the settings for the player and the receiver with no success.
Pros: Clean Sound. Not too enormous. Menu's are easy to navigate through since they show up on your TV screen. I just wanted it for the HD Surround Sound for my Blu-Ray Player. It is doing it's job.
Cons: The center and surround speaker clamps are kind of small and I already had 14 gauge wire and it doesn't quite fit nicely. This is more of a "I don't know what I am doing" quarrel. I am so used to a receiver flashing the DTS or DD 5.1 logo on the display panel so I know what is streaming through m...
Summary: This receiver is everything you want for a reasonable price. Set-up was easy and auto speaker set-up function worked great. The item was delivered earlier than estimated in perfect condition from Amazon. I highly recommend this receiver for all looking for quality at a reasonable price.
Summary: This replaced a 20 year old yamaha unit that I really liked. That unit had a second pair of speaker jacks that I had connected to the patio and I really liked. Now you have to get the 2 zone model to basically get the same thing.
Pros: Processing everything through HDMI is great. I haven't tried the Wii. Price waaaaas very good. Does everything it promises. Setting up volume control is very easy using the automated system.
Cons: Missing jacks for second set of speakers. Remote control needs improvement. Specially if Yamaha intends for this to be your primary source of control for all your gear via HDMI.
Great receiver but get the firmware if you use for HTPC

Summary: This is a fantastic receiver for the price. It has just about every decoder that you could need, and plenty of HDMI inputs (4 of them). Great sound quality on this matched up with my Polk TSi100s and TSI C10 center, as well as the Polk R150 for the surrounds.
Summary: Very impressed with this receiver. We had to buy a new A/V receiver when our Sony ES started having issues--speakers going out and last thing was clicking when powering up. The Yam beats the heck out of the Sony. Speaker setup was easy. Individual settings for every speaker.
Summary: I recently had a Yamaha receiver, but was an old one with no HDMI hook ups nor did it have True HD and DTS HD. After purchasing this receiver without spending a fortune for a new one, this choice could not have been better. i actually expected less, but this receiver is awesome.
Nice options, sound, video opass through nothing special

Summary: First, big fan of Yamaha. I've go this hooked up in no time. The speaker setup device is a snap. It worked great. This receiver isn't the most powerful, as I often have to crank it up to high levels, but I'm very please w/ the sound quality.
