Summary: I connected this receiver to a wireless extender that had wired ethernet connections so I could use Airplay and Internet radio over my wireless network. Worked like a charm. Then, I noticed variable functionality with Airplay and a 'version error' error message. I made a firmware update via USB (ver 1.17) and all hell broke loose. Now Airplay will not function at all although at times (but not always) the network will recognize the Yamaha.
Summary: Sounds great (really great), easy setup and configuration, nice array of features. The only knock against it, which is really only partially Yamaha's fault, is its ability to work with other implementations of HDMI CEC. To some degree, other manufacturers and the HDMI standard itself is to blame, but Yamaha doesn't help things. That said, it's a great receiver for the money.
Summary: Its OK. Replaced and Onkyo that died way too early. Wish it had 2 zonesfor my outdoor speakers, and I cannot get the FM to receive anything (not that I put a real antenna on it -just what it came with). Remote is OK but I really wish that people building interfaces to tablets and smartphones, DLNA would do more than just support Apple. I have everything but.

Summary: Kick ass receiver for the money! I upgraded from a 20+ year old Kenwood and the clarity is amazing. The features are very nice although I dont use the airplay. I hope I haven't yet totally pissed off my neighbors because it sounds great!
Summary: Good for the price but i returned it because i needed something with a bit more power. The sound didnt fill up my living room the way i was hoping. I think it would work great for a bedroom. I ended up going with Sony 850 receiver and i couldn't be happier.

Summary: Huge upgrade from my Onkyo all-in-one! (Duh) I have a TV, Xbox 360, Xbox One, Playstation 3, home-theater PC, and Wii U hooked up to it simultaneously. It all works perfectly without any issues.
