Conclusion: The Yamaha RX-V473 holds up the company's tradition of solid-performing home theater receivers, but its iPod and AirPlay connectivity still needs work.
Pros: Powerful amplifiers. Robust selection of DSP modes. Supports AirPlay and iPod integration. Wi-Fi-based iPhone and iPad app looks great and is easy to use.
Cons: Dated menu graphics. Networking via wired Ethernet only. Amplifier sound slightly trails the competition. No native Pandora or SiriusXM support.
