Summary: Yamaha is one of the best out there for sound systems/home theaters. This set has the right balance of Bass and treble response from the speakers. Setup was easy to do and maintenance free operations. I would recomment people with $250-300 budgets to shell out $100-$150 bucks for the quality and peace of mind.
Summary: This is my second Yamaha Receiver, and I do like the way they sound. Although boxing for shipment was very good, the receiver smelled strongly of tobacco smoke, which was very disappointing. The smell has faded, but I am still sore about it. Beware, may be something we can do about this problem. I do not need internet on my receiver.
Summary: This is an awesome system that provides excellent sound for music and dialogue. I never set up a surround system before which made some of the options a bit confusing to me. However, the dvd provided with the product provides step by step instructions to lead you through the installation. I am still awed by the sound reproduction this system provides for movie watching.
Summary: It's a Yamaha, what more can I say. I have 3 Yamaha home theater receivers dating as far back as 2005 and they all still exceed expectations. This particular unit is hooked to 2 big 8 speaker tower speakers in front and 2 Bose book shelf speakers in the rear and make The Elder Scrolls Skyrim really rock out.
Summary: I bought the system based on reviews here at Amazon and as a previous owner back then. It is an upgrade to my home entertainment center in my game room and the sounds produced is just unbelievable. For the price, sound(s) and ease of operation it can't be beat. Highly recommended!
Summary: Just finished installing. Sounds great. Purchased this item because it was recommended by Consumer Reports. Easy to setup. Its great one HDMI cable connects between the TV and receiver and DVD, xbox 360, and Wii connect to the receive. I do not have to route all the cables to the TV just the receiver.
