Summary: Yamaha's website says this will power A, B or A+B speakers. However, it won't. Downloading the product manual makes this clear. Wish I'd read the manual before buying, rather than relying on the manufacturer's specifications.
Summary: This reciever fuctions are easy to understand. It has clean sound and is simple to control. It is outdated for the times but it is compatible for I pod and XM radio. you also cannot use both A and B channel at the same time.
Summary: I was a Yamaha Fan for many years until I bought the RX-V461,sound quality is good, all round quality is good, one thing is lacking in this unit, YOU definately need the Manual, especially on the remote,It Took me 1 hr to set 5 FM stations, the remote needs some serious re-design
Summary: This little Yamaha receiver replaced a more expensive Pioneer that started shorting out. I believe it to have superior sound quite sufficent to drive my Bose speakers and bring clarity and realism to my Plasma display in a 15 by 20 living room. It also sounds great with my Sacd cds, unlike the Pioneer that it replaced. I purchased it thru Amazon and Crutchfield which I highly recommend and which I would most certainly do again.
Summary: The price range of this Yamaha receiver should make anybody who doesn't live in a tiny apartment or on a really tight budget reconsider cheap all-in-one systems. I got this receiver, and was using average quality speakers, and the sound was still very natural. I've been using Yamaha products for years, and have never been let down.
Summary: The picture was of the titanium face but when we got it is was black. I think that the picture should represent the actual product . The only thing anyone has to go by online was the pictured in the add. Other then that the product was fine.
Summary: I haven't made the jump to full digital and HD, so for my needs the RXV461 is perfect. I expect this to bridge the transition quite well too. It lacks HDMI, but with the component in/out it will buy me some time before I'd ultimately have to switch again. I noticed upon receipt the unit was different from the picture, but no worries its the same model available elsewhere, to see front and back images and read the manual check out the manufacturers site!
