Summary: In response to Cully, the RX-V3900 Does indeed have 7 amps and does indeed Mention on page 12 of the User Manual, that, Quote, "You can connect both surround back and presence speakers to this unit, however they do not output simultaneously. This unit automatically switches...." which is (SP1) for presence. However it does not mention that when using (SP2) for another zone that it will turn off the main surround amps L & R. Which brought me to this review.
Summary: I have a critical ear and an engineer's knowledge of electronics and sound. It has good power and dynamics. I find the YPAO to do a remarkable job of balancing the speakers and it saves me much time that I would be tinkering with it. My only disappointment is that the tuner is not very hot on the front end (not much RF amplification of weak signals). At $500 for a like-new receiver of this quality, I bought a bargain.
Summary: I cannot say enough about this unit, the sound for movies is THE BEST. What an awesome unit. It has brought a smile to my face many many times . It is a TOP OF THE LINE RECEIVER from Yamaha, NO doubt. This is my second yammie and i will not buy another brand, it was worth every dime i paid for it. For my small Home Theater, it performs like a YAMAHA. I have to give it a 10, 5-GOLD STARS and THREE THUMBS UP!
Summary: Owned this receiver for almost a year now. Excellent sound for movies and music. Lots of power and it can get loud. Easy to setup. This is my first Yamaha. Didn't have any problem with this receiver so far. The only negative thing I can think of is that it gets a little hot on top after using for a couple of hours. Like the other reviewers posted, get a fan to blow the hot air OUT of the receiver, then it'll be fine.
Pure quality. Real talent went into designing this jewel

Summary: My second Yamaha receiver, and from my experience, I'll probably never buy any other brand. This device is amazing. Quality throughout. The sound is clean and smooth. (Don't let anyone tell you that there is no difference in sound quality between better amps!) It took the better part of a (pleasurable) day to absorb all the features from the manual, and get it all set up perfectly.
Summary: Appears to be as stated. Have not had much time running through all processes. It is a great product for the money. Has all the features I wanted for my dedicated home theater. Sound options and quality are excellent. The Video has been excellent as far as I have been able to test.
Summary: If the V3900BL were a little lighter and robust, I would take 'her' out to dinner frequently. We would go for long walks in the woods and dip our toes in the cool stream water. I love my V3900BL. I cannot imagine living without her. She completes me!
Summary: I purchased this amp as a replacement for a RX-V2500. I am totaly impressed with the features that are on this new amp. You can't go wrong with a Yamaha. Set it up, and hooked it to the internet and it found all the internet channels on its own. All of my music on my home server was there to. Wow very easy.
