) So if you have heavy gauge wiring like me, then expect similar difficulties

Summary: Decent system. I'm admittedly using it for simple stuff (just so we can utilize a 5 speaker surround system for the TV, which was already set up in the house we bought.) We don't listen to music with it, and aren't music "aficionados!
Summary: Well I hooked it all up, and I'd had to make some adjustments. However my sub-woofer blew up when I connected it, I'm really not to happy with that. But you can help me by sending some woofers I can look at, because I need one now, the receiver doesn't work right without one.
Pros: Specifications looks great, great support for multiple audio formats, great price advantage.
Cons: Haven't had much time to play with the unit because it lacks HDMI passthrough in standby mode. This was not mentioned anywhere in the specification and this was a real deal breaker for me. I didn't want the unit to be ON every time I watch something. RMA-ed. Taking the stars off because of Newegg...
Summary: While it has all the speaker connections i wanted, and HDMI which i wanted to upgrade to from my 7 year old yamaha receiver. The problem i had with this model is, my old yamaha which still works perfectly fine has a "Entertainment 5.1 Ch" setting that would automatically scale any source that wasn't...
Summary: Myth: Individual surround sound components always provide better surround sound experience than HTIB. I just found out the expensive way that that is purely myth!!! I replaced my JVC HTIB system with individual components of "higher quality".
Summary: This entry level unit provides many of the features wanted by buyers in a receiver, but at the sacrifice of good basics like uninflated power ratings and up scaling video. Also, I am not a fan of push clip speaker wire connecter.these are for the center and back surrounds with normal 5 way posts for...
Summary: This isn't so much a review on the receiver as a whole, but a review on a major missing feature, which is what my score is based on. I'm surprised more people aren't mentioning this, but this receiver does NOT have standby HDMI passthrough.
Summary: I would recommend this product if you are just going to watch blu-rays or music. But if you are planning on hooking it up to your computer to watch Hulu and Netflix. You might want to do a little more research to see if it will work for you. My GPU is a Sapphire Radeon HD 7950
Pros: This is my second Yamaha receiver the reason why I bought this one is because I really liked my old one. Its easy to use.
Cons: I use my computer for basically everything and when I open up a video game the receiver makes a clicking noise and starts working but when I exit the game it makes the same clicking noise and it won't work with any browser. I can't use with Netflix, Hulu, Youtube, etc. It works fine with my blu-r...
Summary: I am using this receiver with Polk TL1900, and as a source my computer's sound card connected with optical cord. The sound is pretty marvelous paired with Polk TL1900s (definitely a step up from Logitech x530s). I can't complain. Setup went great - barring one thing I noticed.
Pros: Good sound Speaker connections feel solid Had decoders I wanted (for optical input)
Cons: REAR LEFT speaker doesn't work Insecure optical input Requires video out-source for some menu options (such as HDMI TV / AV TV)
