Summary: The unit, supposedly refurbished was packed by someone who didn't care about his/her job. The Unit was not "refurbished" If I understand what "refurbished" means. I would call it "poor condition". I put it in service in June and just today noticed that a rear channel connector is broken after I bought and installed rear speakers. I presume some sort of Yamaha warranty will cover this, we'll see.
Summary: Knew I was taking a chance with a refurbished unit. When it was received the spring clip for the center speaker channel was broken off. The piece was not in the box or packaging so it did not happen in transport. That could only mean the unit was refurbished and reshipped like that. On a positive note, this was my first experience with Amazon's returns and that was a breeze. Money was refunded almost immediately.
Summary: I received my Yamaha RX-V375-R. I was so exited to hear what it sounds like, I hooked it all up and the last step was to plug it in and NOTHING! Didn't light up or nothing. I was very disappointed. The next day I ordered a new Yamaha RX-V475 from a different seller.
Summary: I bought this unite to power a Polk Audio speaker system I bought. The sound and video quality is fine. My complaint is that when I turn on the tv I have to power cycle the receiver for the sound starts to work. Sometimes the sound stops, or just doesn't work. I fiddle with it looking through menus and not changing anything and all of a sudden it starts working. I highly recommend buying a better unit, I will never buy one like this again.
Summary: Not what I expected. I knew that it had been used and refurbished but I didn't expect the display to be all scratched up, it looks like a two year old had it. I have a 30 year old Yamaha without a scratch on it. The volume control is very low, I had to keep turning the volume up until all of a sudden it started blasting so loud I thought it would blowout my speakers. I intent was to use this as outdoor patio setup to use a mp3 flash drive, which does work very well.
