Junk!

Cherita B., Newegg
20 March 2016
  • Pros: Can hook up multiple devices.
  • Cons: 3 years old and already in the repair shop. We've only used it when watching movies on the big screen television once a week or every other week. Product died while watching a movie, not particular reason, blew out and never came back on.

Poor Receiver, invest in something other than Yamaha

PNW Shopper, Amazon
23 October 2015
  • Summary: I purchased this receiver based upon price and unfortunately, many reviews I read on line in June of this year (2015). This receiver .... for the lack of a better one word description, ........... SUCKS! We'll be watching TV and all of a sudden the receiver shuts off without any warning.

Receiver only worked for 12 months

J. Muse, Amazon
26 July 2015
  • Summary: I am very disappointed with this receiver. It worked fine for about a year, then one day the receiver stopped transmitting video from the HDMI Out. After several calls to Yamaha customer service, they concluded that the unit was toast and that it would need to be repaired.

User Review

Edward C., Newegg
11 February 2015
  • Pros: 2699%... Is this what you want? A percentage of 3000? If not, Street for this Yamaha receiver has worked extremely well! Easy set up, easy-to-use, a bit involved on the 5.1 surround sound but, nothing too serious. Plus… It broke about three months in, I called, I shipped, they fixed and they ship...
  • Cons: Not really.

I've been happy with it

Michael M., Newegg
15 November 2014
  • Pros: It's been great so far. I bought it back in 2012 and haven't had any problems. It's a breeze to setup and use.
  • Cons: The auto configure mic thingy doesn't support subwoofers.

A Great Buy

Skeptic, Amazon
9 November 2014
  • Summary: I purchased this to use as a substitute for an Onkyo HT-RC180 (sent for HDMI repair) in my mancave. I push a 7.2 system with PSB towers, midrange and rear surrounds. I have added two 10 inch powered subs and small wide left and rights.

DO NOT BUY

John M., Newegg
29 September 2014
  • Summary: Buying this receiver is roughly equivalent to dowsing $180 worth of cash in gasoline and starting a small bonfire outside your home.
  • Pros: Sounded okay while it worked
  • Cons: Dies after one year. Wish I had noticed the other reviews that mention this "issue".

M. McCrum, Amazon
2 August 2014
  • Summary: I purchased this receiver in November of 2012, and it has seen a great deal of use since then. The sound is great running through my Bose 5.1 surround system, and I love the various features upon which many users have already commented.

Sweet Deal

JPW, Amazon
9 July 2014
  • Summary: Well I took a chance on this refurb receiver and came up aces all around. Got this amp to build a 5.1 surround sound system for audio and home theatre system. Have had for about a year now and it has worked perfectly. It has many settings and variable concert sound modes.
