Summary: I really wanted to love this Yamaha RX-V371. I had researched for several months and read many reviews of this product and had finally decided this was the one for me. I was replacing an older Onkyo that I loved but did not have any HDMI inputs.
Summary: Now comes the challenges of dealing with Yamaha product warranty division. Based on another review on this unit it is the kind of challenge that inspires disgruntled postal worker imitations. For joy, for joy
Pros: -excellent sound quality for this price range -relatively painless setup and operation
Cons: after about 3 months of use I began experiencing problems while watching TV. I was getting audio loss and pix-elating picture going to a blank green screen of about 3 seconds duration. Had DISH come out and replace the satellite receiver twice. Each time experiencing a reprieve from the problem f...
Summary: I don't want to spend 10 minutes unplugging and reinserting cables every time I want to watch a Blu-ray. I want to sit in my recliner and push buttons on the remote control. I am tired of chinese made junk where the end user is expected to do their quality control for them.
Pros: Cheap (price)
Cons: Cheap (quality) Receiver has problems finding HDMI signal from Panasonic Blu-ray player. Red HDMI indicator on receiver blinks and intermittently sound comes out for just a split second. Sometimes after unplugging HDMI cable from Blu-ray player to receiver and waiting a while then plugging it bac...
Summary: As much as I wanted to love it, it was a pretty lackluster unit. It failed within a month and wouldn't output to the front left channel, and now I've got to ship it to a service center for repair, when I used it 3 times. Now I've got to pay for that, too.
Summary: I bought my Yamaha receiver at best buy and was very happy at first. Then one year and one day I was playing a CD and the unit just quit and would not turn back on. In the manual something was mentioned about the unit shutting down in some instances to prevent harming the unit.
