Great piece of engineering, great audio, quality and reliable.

Cesar@lf "Cesaralfms", Amazon
12 July 2011
  • Summary: Well now, hard for me to add more than many others have written in here. But for the record, this item has proven to be one of my best investments so far. I have 9 speakers + 2 subwoofers powered by this system; 2 Definitive Mythos4 + 7 kef KHT Series + 2 SW. tough I have to choose between presence and surround back, the sound clarity and output power is still great. Hard to setup network, not a very reliable USB some flash drives just don't work.

No prior receiver experience easy to use and install

Bob Vela "DIY home theater", Amazon
6 July 2009
  • Summary: First receiver I have ever purchased and installed. It took a little while to read each step of the instruction manual and complete each step. But it was very easy to complete. This has exceeded our family's home theater expectations! The auto calibration made a big improvement to the listening quality. I purchased based on on-line reviews and recommended by a friend. I had a dedicated 20 amp electrical outlet installed to make sure the receiver had plenty of power.

RX-V2700

C.K., Amazon
9 June 2008
  • Summary: I looked and researched many A/V receivers before deciding on this one. I am very pleased with the sound, ease of use, and many, many features. This unit is well worth the price paid, I would recommend to anyone looking for a powerhouse A/V controller. I have mine connected to a 50" plasma TV and a Yamaha upconverting DVD player.

Very Nice AV Receiver

Dr Y., Amazon
28 April 2008
  • Summary: This was the first AV receiver that I purchased in over 20 years. Lots of bells and whistles; some I have already played with (network radio, USB connection, HDMI upconversion) and some that I am still waiting to try (PC music, multi-zone multi-input). No problems so far just have a lot to time to peruse the owners manual and discover all of the features.

RX-V2700

Cory M. Link, Amazon
15 April 2008
  • Summary: Excellent product. Bought this as a replacement for my RX-V2095 and once again, Yamaha has come through. Very easy to set up, sounds great. The one area that needs work is the speed and GUI of the Network functionality (the abiility to play MP3s over your home network). Other than that, it is a great receiver.

A+ Receiver!

LudVanB, Amazon
28 February 2008
  • Summary: Outstanding receiver - good power - love the HDMI connections - wonderful array of spatial sound choices (i.e. - Live Club to Church in Zurich - actually sounds like these acoustic spaces). The diversity of the selections of spatial sound is over the top. I am very pleased with this receiver. Perfect for any home theater. Borders on audiophile quality.

high-end receiver for less

pardos, Amazon
18 January 2008
  • Summary: This receiver is a true workhorse offerring all the A/V inputs/outputs that you'll ever need. Sound quality is comparable if not equal to much more expensive professional high-end receivers out there. Being able to connect it to the home network and play your MP3 collection straight from your computer is a nice touch.

My 3rd Yamaha, and so far my favorite

Ben Nolen "Tech geek", Amazon
19 December 2007
  • Summary: This is my 3rd Yamaha receiver. All three have been RX-V series. The first one was about 8 years ago and only support Dolby Digital, not DTS. Then about 4 years ago, I upgraded to the RX-V1300. It had a lot more features, included DTS. About 9 months ago I got the 2700 for HDMI. It has been rock solid. Thew HDMI inputs have been a cabling blessing. I have a 360, HD-DVD player and DTV HR-20 hooked up, all HDMI in, and one HDMI out to the TV. That's it.

The most for your money

Kamikaze13, Amazon
11 December 2007
  • Summary: I purchased this receiver several weeks ago based on the fact that you get the most for your money with this unit, and my friend is using the RXV-1600 and loves it. I also looked at Denon, Marantz, HK, Sony, and others. Nothing else came close to matching specs and features for the price. When I hooked it up to replace my Sony str-895 I was pleasantly surprised with the improvement in sound on my Polk RTi/CSi speakers (which are a bit power hungry).
