Summary: this is a very powerful receiver and I would recommend to anyone. the receiver has excellent sound for any listener and enough power to handle just about any speaker. with the multi-room functions there are just about endless connection possibilities and you will not be disappointed. I bought this unit used and have had very little problems with the connections like wires and network. works well with all YDS-10 thru YDS-12 for ipod control and network radio.
Summary: Although this receiver doesn't decode Dolby TrueHD or DTS-HD Master Audio it does accept High Resolution Multi-channel PCM up to 7.1 channels through HDMI which will give you the same sound as a newer receiver that decodes them, as long as your Blu-ray player can decode the new codecs.
Summary: I liked the features yamaha offers in its line of home theater receivers. I needed the hdmi connections which the 2700 had 3 in , 1 out , with upscaling of video. the power is there by the barrel full!! It sounds better than i had hoped , not to mention it lookes as good as it sounds. My wife is impressed with the sound ( she smiles at the home theater and never mentioned the price , ha ha success!! ) I will buy Yamaha , because it will be a High Quality product.
Summary: I love this receiver. I was afraid of doing the Zone 2 with multiple speakers, but this baby can handle it. 8 hours straight of both Main and Zone 2(Zone blasting at -25db outside) and it worked. Network is a beaut, it connected to my network immediately, I did not do anything. I was streaming awesome preset stations. My media player recognized it immediately and I was also playing from my playlists. The sound is crips and clear.
