Summary: Great reciever. Love the sound and the up converting. The USB in the front has been very helpful. Yamaha builds quality in thier units. This is the third Yamaha unit I have owned. They are always ready and willing when you need them to perform.
Summary: This Yamaha RX-V1065 has outperformed every stereo home theater and radio that I have ever owned. And I have had many receivers in my time. I have never been able to go out and spend big bucks on audio equipment before. After owning this 1065 for about 2 years now for a very fair price through E-Bay I am still constantly impressed with all that is has to offer.
Summary: I paid for it $380, which was really a good deal. I had a DENON entry level receiver, which was replaced by this one. The difference is big, in music and movies. Very good product, good connectivity. I have no complaints at all, except that the user manual is a bit confusing for a not experiment user.

Summary: I have been buying receivers almost every other year for the past 20 years searching for the right sound, ease of use, best component quality, most flexibility and a receiver that is capable of not being outdated a year after you buy it. The top two features I like most about the receiver are the Scene functions and the sound quality.
Summary: amazing sound quality and powerfull 4/6 or 8 OHMS output, usb, ipod connectivity and charge (new models 5V)on screen menus, universal remote control, lot of sound fields programs, dts, sound enhancer in 2 or 7 channels, etc,..... msrp is about $999.00 get it on amazon for $450 brand new A-Stock, theres a little issue with fm tuner it only accepts strong signal stations, i email yamaha support and they send me the update for this unit and everything change, now it accepts...
Summary: Very happy with this receiver. I bought it because it has HDMI in/out. I've been Yamaha for over 20 yrs. This is the best one I've owned. I like the on screen guide for setting it up. Set up was a breeze. I did not use the mic method and chose to do it manually. Be sure to go into the EQ under speakers and set the equalizer for each speaker. This really helped dial in the sound that I like.
Summary: The RX-V1065 is a solid receiver in every respect. The DTS-HD, especially, blows me away. For the first time, I'm hearing the clarity, detail and depth I've longed for since first delving into Surround Sound systems so many years ago. When purchasing this receiver, I kind of went against the grain and bought it without doing a lot of research first.
Summary: I had a nice Sony STR-DE995. It was a purchase I never thought I'd be able to make because times were tuff. For whatever reason it didnt quite make the grade and I was dissapointed. (Yet I loved it.) 4 years ago we bought a Sony KDL-46X-BR3. It was just after a move and we were getting our new house figured out. I said, I want my 7.1 speakers pluggable from behind the TV. Well, that exact thing happened. So now I'm the audio expert around here. The sony bit the dust.
