CFH Review, Amazon
18 February 2014
  • Summary: I had this unit for about a month and connected to Klipsch Quintet 5.0 speakers and Klipsch SW-350 8-Inch 350 Watt Subwoofer . I originally had the Marantz NR1504 but it was plagued with HDMI connection and video drops. Marantz confirmed it must be defective and was returned. I purchased the Yamaha to replace this unit. I only have 5.5 inches of head room and needed a small sized receiver. When I received the Yamaha I loved so many things about it. First it worked!

Under Powered - Read the Specs Carefully

  • Summary: I had this unit for about a month, connected to Klipsch Quintet 5.0 speakers & Klipsch SW-350 8-Inch 350 Watt Subwoofer. I noticed the Center channel always seemed a bit anemic. I set all the sound and speaker settings manually. I set the EQ identical on all speakers to bring out the mid and high ranges. The speakers were set to Small and added the Sub with the recommended Klipsch crossover. I measured the distance to all speakers and input that distance manually.
  • Pros: The remote was great. It ran my PS3, Amazon Prime and could make all adjustment quickly. It is not back lit though. Form factor.
  • Cons: Take a closer look at the Wattage Specs - It is 95 W per channel (6 ohms, 1 kHz, 0.9% THD, 1-ch driven) per Yamaha! With one Channel why in the world would I need to know what a 5.1 system can do for one Channel? Also list is 60 W per channel (6 ohms, 20 Hz-20 kHz, 0.09% THD, 2-ch driven)! This time it is only 6 Ohms into two Channels. The video signal was ok but compared to the Marantz 1605 I replaced this unit with it is night and day. My wife thought I bought a new...

Andreas Lorenz, Amazon
5 January 2014
  • Summary: Das Gerät ist an sich klasse.
