Amazing Upgrade

Bryan B., Newegg

  • Summary: We have been using Yamaha receivers in our entertainment room for 15 years. When some of our original speakers from a HTIB setup started going out, I was shopping around for some new speakers. Of course, I got carried away and replaced all the old Yamaha Speakers with Klipsch speakers.
  • Pros: Has so many input connections you'll never use them all. Also has a full front panel input that allows you to hook up mp3 players, phones, etc via usb, camcorders, and what ever other device you have that's portable. Supports up to 9.2 configuration. 11.2 with an external amp. Has a wired port fo...
  • Cons: In order to run 11.2 configuration, you need to have an external amp. It was really tough to figure this out. The manual contradicts itself. This thing is huge! It barely fits on my entertainment stand. The remote is huge, and not backlit. The LCD display on the remote is pointless. You have to d...

  • Summary: I love this receiver!! I had an Onkyo TX-NR1009 that bit the bullet (hdmi card went out/no audio) 1 month after the warranty expired. I had switched to Onkyo receivers a few years back and originally was using Yamaha receivers. Why I switched to Onkyo at the time is beyond me.

  • Summary: One of the best AVR on the market. The build quality the sound and video quality are as perfect as possible. Worth every penny. In US this receiver sells at half price if you compare it with New Zealand.

Everything I wanted and more.

  • Summary: Small cabinet owners check your measurements and shelf weight capacities cause this thing is huge and heavy. Its taller and deeper than my old receiver by a large margin and weighs roughly twice as much. It has just about every input you can think of and I've filled nearly all of them.

  • Summary: This is a great receiver...very impressed. I'm running it in 11.2 mode (with an external stereo power amp since it only has 9 channels of amplification). Performed the YPAO setup (angle too) and it was 99% good (the subs were set up a little on the weak side on initial setup). Amazing tech!

  • Summary: Running only one tv and 5.1 setup with 150w per speaker. Runs cooler than my old 2005 yamaha. on screen options are fun to play with and lots of options. Pandora works great. The hdmi link I made with it to my sharp tv is real cool.
