No adjustable Subwoofer crossover that I can find!

Summary: Bought this last year and love the sound quality. What I don't love is the lack of subwoofer control. The old Yamaha pre HDMI receiver I owned let you adjust the crossover for the sub output in these steps: 50hz, 80hz, 100hz, 120hz. This receiver seems to just use a default setting. I prefer to control and contour this myself thank you very much.
Terrific receiver, has multitude of options and easy PC or smartphone control

Summary: I've had receiver for well over a year now and have not had a single issue with it. It has great power for my large power hungry speakers. I also have an outside zone setup that I ran some speaker wire to and that works great too. The sound is very good. This is my 3rd Yamaha receiver as I've upgraded them every few years. Haven't had a single problem with any of them.
This is my third Yamaha amp that lost HDMI switching
28 May 2012
Summary: I purchased this RX-A3000 amplifier because it offered "Party Mode" so I could play digital inputs in Zones 2 and 3. Now after 11 months, the HDMI switching has failed. I know this to be the case because this is the THIRD time a Yamaha amp has done this to me. Twice I had to send in my RX-Z7 amp to have the HDMI board replaced. I assumed that was extreme bad luck.
Summary: I have had 2 Onkyo's which were very nice, but a third that failed. Two Pioneers, descent, One Sony fair, and a Harmon Kardon which was a good receiver. The Yammies rule. I still have an old rxv 2092 flagship receiver built back in 97 and it still rocks. I also owned a Yammie htr 5890 which did not have hdmi, but incredible power and clean sound from optical. I finally decided to get the flagship 3000, and it rocks.
Good Receiver but Flawed, and awful customer support

Summary: This is a very nice receiver overall. It has quite a lot of functions, and the sound quality is excellent. However, I had a problem with my system. The tuner never worked most of the time. While on any FM station, the sound cuts off, just dead silence. And during these times, I could not get the tuner to do anything, different station, FM, AM, HD, nothing works any more until I cycle power to the unit.
Perfect: Sound, hardware, features, technology, Android and Apple support

Summary: Excellent hardware, no noise, no heat, not too heavy. Excellent sound processing, easy setup, straight forward menu. Reach settings, and supporting almost every single audio/video sources. Looks very nice and give the room great and modern look. Can't find anything bad about it, only missing the airplay feature for iOS devices, but I can simply buy apple TV and connect it to this devise to add the airplay feature.
Great Sound, Nice Design, but very hard to setup without directions in the manual
9 November 2011
Summary: Good power.. nice options to tweak. The sound is great, but nearly impossible to configure -far too complicated for a home theater receiver... ..start pushing buttons and see what happens... Even the manual is horrible. It doesn't fully explain the process on how to update the firmware. It reads to reference the Advanced Setup Menu -There is no such section in the manual -unbelievable! I had to search for it in a non-Yamaha online forum.
Not Impressed and would not purchase in the future!

Summary: This receiver had super reviews but I'm not at all impressed and extremely disappointed in the purchase. To start and to be fair the sound is good but this is the end....some would say this is all that matters; however, beg to differ. When you spend this amount of money for a receiver I expect it to be simple, intuitive and brilliant. The GUI (Graphic User Interface) is NOT/NOT simple or intuitive. It was obviously established without a simple user in mind.
