Summary: I bought this receiver to use for music and movies and it balances both well. Really easy to set up, very easy to understand, lots of fun to use. My girlfriend hated me buying this and last night had to admit how much better watching a movie was with fantastic sound.
Pros: Accurate Controls, Easy To Set Up, Good Power Output, Good Remote Control, Great Sound Quality, Lots Of Av Connections, Love The Front Panel And
Summary: I bought the Yamaha RX-A1030 to replace my old Panasonic SC-HT800V Home Theater System. The A1030 was a big step up from my old system and after a month of use I'm generally very happy with it. I paired it with a Bose Acoustimass 10 since I live in a small apartment and don't need big speakers. My impressions so far are that it is a solid all-around feature-rich system. I have never been blown away by any of the features of the A1030, but I'm always satisfied.
Pros: Accurate Controls, Airplay Support, Easy To Set Up, Hd Radio Tuner, Ipad App, Ipod Support, Phono input
Summary: Really like this receiver. I am using Polk RTI A9's, CSI A6, FXI A6's, and DSWPRO 550wi. My setup is very power hungry and I was worried about the power output of the a1030 not being enough for my speakers, but it turns out there wasn't anything to worry about. In a 12x14 room it plays very loud with no clipping when you crank it. I live in an apartment so I usually stay at medium volume most of the time.
Pros: Accurate Controls, Good Power Output, Great Sound Quality
Summary: This is a great receiver. It is replacing a Yamaha RX-Z1 which lacked HDMI. Very easy to set up and loaded with features. My only negative is the remote which is not backlit & buttons are too small. IPAD app is nice, but the unit's own remote should be better for a receiver in this price range. Easily drives 4 Definitive Tech Towers as part of a 6.1 surround system. Among favorite features are Airplay, DLNA server, & NET radio.
Pros: Accurate Controls, Easy To Set Up, Energy Efficient, Good Power Output, Great Sound Quality
Summary: This is a great receiver. It is an upgrade from a 15+ year old Yamaha rxv 900 series that was a first generation digital receiver that technology had passed by. The setup was relatively easy. Only problem was I did not realize that the HDMI inputs do not out put to zone 2 except for the dedicated zone 2 HDMI. The first things I set up were blue ray and sat TV to HDMI, so spent a few frustrating hours trying to figure out why zone 2 did not work.
Pros: Good Remote Control, Great Sound Quality, I Pad Interfac, Love The 2 Zone Capabilit
Summary: Replaced a older Yamaha RXV635. Wanted switchable latest HDMI I/O w/pre-amp outputs. Familiar great sound fields plus HDradio as a plus. FM antenna works but does not pick up all that well, my office boombox picks up better with its antenna. Guess I will get big antenna in Attic and run wire down wall to receiver as I want to receive all the HDFM stations available in my area. DTS encoder is a plus feature as is the network ability for music server.
Pros: Easy To Set Up, Good Power Output, Great Sound Quality
Summary: The 1030 came with some Martin Logans to create a better sound for the 70" Sharp. I'm far from being a audiophile so I checked reviews to come up with this "gift" and couldn't be happier! Hook up was simple and navigation through modes is a breeze. I was able to bi-wire the Motion 40's due to more outputs than I'll use. Sounds great in my very open living room.
Pros: Accurate Controls, Easy To Set Up, Great Sound Quality
Summary: I contacted a Yamaha Technician, before I purchased my RX-A1030. I wanted to know if it could power 3 pair of Bose 901 speakers and one Bose center speaker. The answer was an definite "affirmative"! The RX-A1030 is truly awesome, and my Bose 901 speakers love the RX-A1030. I've enjoy listening to music every since I was toddler, and this RX-A1030 is best receiver I've ever purchased. Try it out for yourself!!!!!!!!
