Summary: The product was in great condition and worked perfect. I may be selling it because it did not have a phono hook up and that is what we needed with the unit we have. However, it worked great with all of the rest of the components. I purchashed the Yamaha HTR 6030 5.1 Receiver was compatable with the system we already had. I wish I had asked about the phono hook up. That was my error. The overall product is really great.
Summary: I have had my Yamaha receiver for 2 years and am happy with one exception: When on SAT 2 channel the sound will quit for about a second or two with the loss of picture also. Then the picture and sound comes back and everything is okay for awhile. This is an intermittent irregular occurence happening sometimes every15-20 minutes and sometimes not at all during the viewing. It is more of an annoyance to me, but it might drive others crazy.
Summary: Liked so much bought a second one for dad. This receiver is so easy to hood up.Dont really care for hdmi hook up so i thought this one was perfect. I use component cable and love the fiber optic for sound, which it has two of. Has subwoofer hook up and dital cable as the third digtal output. Logitech Harmony remotes rely on exact installation of devices so one remote can operate everything,VERY HAPPY.
Summary: I was in the market for a decent home theater for my room. Im a college student living at home and working about 20 hours a week on commision so I had some money to burn. I have the whole home theater set up. HDTV, 360, but i needed some sound upgrades. So me and my buddy go down to best buy on dec. 26th not really thinking i was going to buy a home theater system.
Summary: very fast shipping, got it in only a few days!! i wish it would have hdmi but for this price i cant complain! its a great value! right now i have it hooked to my samsung 32" LCD and a pair of sony tower speakers. i also have sony's ss-b1000 bookshelf speakers on the way. they sound great!! all i need now is to save enough money to get a decent sub. does anyone have an idea of the best sub to get on budget?? i highly recommend this receiver to everybody!!
Summary: We purchased this receiver and it's great when you finally get it set up. I see other reviews saying it had easy setup, but wow now I feel like an idiot because we didn't find it to be so. Of course, we are replacing an old amazingly fine Phase Linear amp that finally gave up the ghost after many years of excellent service. Ah, those were the days of simplicity... it was all about sound quality. But I digress.
Summary: This is being used in a dance studio driving two big speakers and a subwoofer. The sound is clean, and undistorted at loud levels. It also provides front panel inputs for an iPod, which most of the dance instructors use. You can select various DSP algorithms, for example, concert hall, jazz club, or theater. I run it "straight" since the sound is quite good directly from CD's or the iPod. The price is excellent!!!
Summary: I just received my Yamaha 6030 and had the basic cabling and setup done in 30 minutes and the detailed setup done over the course of a few hours of DVD, DVR, CD, and cable TV watching. Sound quality is excellent. A perfect receiver for a simple to moderate home theater system where DVI/HDMI cables are not going to be used. Since I'm using component video exclusively, and primarily digital audio - it is perfect for me.
Summary: Received this unit from Amazon in great condition. Easy hookups, and simple initial setup. Surround sounds nice. But....... trying to get the tuner to search for stations, or manually select a station is very difficult. The manual walks through a process to maually change the stations, I didn't work for me after trying for 30 minutes. I suspect I'm missing something, but all the same, tuning in a station should be extremely simple.
