Summary: Bought this in 2002 for $300.00, really wanted a higher model but cash was tight at the time. This is my second Yamaha receiver, and I think it's safe to say I'm a Yamaha Lifer. I also have a Yamaha DVD player which is awesome, plays all digital formats except .MKV. Anyway at 75watts to 5 channels you can't beat the price. Sounds great, no heat issues either.
Summary: I have only used it a couple of days and I think it is a great product. It does what it is supposed to do and does it well. I would like to be able to adjust the voulme manually between the rear and front and center speakers but I don't know of any unit that allows this. By most standards it is an old unit but it is doing what I need done at my stage in life. I am using it to beef up the sound on the tv for us old retired half deaf people.
Fantastic sound and function with "Yamaha Quality"

Summary: Most of my gear is Yamaha, top quality and performance for modest price, my M80 amp still outperforms anything you can purchase for under $1500. I made the mistake of purchasing an Carver amp in 88, the M500t which was a excellent amp but did not even come close to the performance of my old Yamaha M70 or the M80 amps
