Summary: This refurbished receiver has been powering my 2.1 stereo system for the last three weeks. Aside from some network issues and unverifiable calibration, I've been happy. Upon receiving the unit, I updated to the latest firmware (1.16) via USB, and was thereafter unable to connect to the wired network...
Summary: It is a Yamaha so the audio quality is excellent. But some caveats. For non technical people, it will be too hard to set up. There are probably simpler options like an all in one surround speaker kit. Yamaha makes those too.
Pros: Good value, Great Sound Quality
Cons: Confusing / Bad Remote Control, Difficult To Set Up, Outdated On Screen Ui, Poor Reception / Weak Antenna
Summary: Don't buy the refurbished version no matter how low the price goes. It has been nothing but a headache. Had to pay for it to ship to a Yamaha tech who took 3 months to repair. The circuit board went bad on it.
The best choice for a receiver in its price range!

Summary: I hooked up two front speakers Yamaha NS-S34 and a subwoofer polk DSW PRO660. Sounds great! Pros: - powerfull and clean sound - internet radio and good network detection - quality construction - lots of sound modes - plenty of inputs - 4K and 3D compatible - price Cons: - no WiFi - for internet...
Summary: Really happy with the sound quality and the features in this receiver. Got a factory refurb, but no signs of it being a factory second in any way other than the plain cardboard box it came in.
Summary: I was given a set of surrond speakers and wanted to upgrade the reciever so I bought this unit. It's great and I love the apps that allow our phones to control it. HAD TO GOOGLE HOW TO RESET THE UNIT AFTER A POWER OUTAGE....
