Summary: Great budget receiver, honestly I don't think you could do much better for the price. Running Polk Audio Monitor 60 II's, center channel to match, and a BIC America F12. Sounds fantastic for the amount I put into the system. Only thing I will say for those putting together more than some low end speakers w/ this receiver... Do yourself a favor and get some good speaker wire. It really does make a night and day difference. Highly suggest monster at the minimum.
Summary: Obviously this device does not do what I expected it to do and it came with only a manual on CD which is very confusing. I have tried to configure it in many different ways but am still unable to get it to work. How do I get to speak with ANYONE about this??
Summary: This is the second Yamaha receiver that I have purchased. The first was a used 5630 which still performs well. This is a definite upgrade. Setup was easier than I thought it would be. I thought that the setup without a manual would be a pain but it turned out to great. It's also easier to look up instructions anytime due to the fact that they're on the the laptop. No looking for the manual while away from the house.
Summary: I have had this receive now for over a year and still can say I absolutely love it! This has been the best receive I have ever owned. I am now looking into Denon. For me, I always want bigger and better! LOL. Well, Don't wonder what I am looking into now because it is no where near this price point. But as said, this Yamaha Rocks! I got it hooked up to Jamo Speakers AKA Klipsh " Bumpin" AWESOME FOR MOVIES !!
Summary: Yamaha quality for a great price. This is a perfect receiver for an entry level 5.1 setup. I am very happy with the construction quality, features and sound. I recommend this to anyone building their first home theater system.
Summary: I've brought this receiver now one and a half year from now, and it's very amazing. It has rich sounds, great for movies and music, even classic music. I can only recommend it. Only the lack of DTS-HD support bugs meg a bit, cause you can get a DTS-HD receiver at this price.
Pros: 4 HDMIs, 3D Support, Rich sound, Silent Cinema, SCENE feature
Summary: I bought this receiver because my old one didn't have any HDMI inputs or outputs and I was installing a projector and 125" screen. There are lots of little adjustments that someone can make if want to. I'm not into all that so I just leave them alone for the most part and it still sounds great to me. Installation was easy and it has been working great either on TV, Laptop, Roku or Tuner. Glad I got it.
Summary: I had an old Kenwood hooked up to some off brand tower speakers. I decided it was time to do my 3D LED tv some justice. I picked this unit up, along with a pair of Klipsch vf-35's, and a klipsch c-2. This thing gives them MORE than enough power. I didn't even bi-amp them. It has several features and settings. After tweaking it, the speakers sound phenomenal. I would HIGHLY recommend this receiver to anyone looking for good quality for a good price.
Summary: I wanted to replace our HTIB with a nicer receiver and came across this Yamaha. I'm overall pleased with the performance of this system. I've paired it with the Onkyo SKW204 powered subwoofer. I'm still using the speakers from the HTIB system, but the improvement in sound quality was immediately noticeable. The only complaint so far is the layout of the remote control. It's too easy to hit the wrong buttons when adjusting the volume or selecting the source.
Summary: I love this receiver - Easy to set up and use and the price was fantastic. I wanted something that I could quickly install to replace my aging Marantz and this did the trick. I particularly like the fact that it routes the audio from the HDMI inputs to the speaker outs, a feature I was not expecting.
