Summary: It is pretty much everything I wanted. I love its sleek look, bundle of features, quality sound output and the more-than-sufficient amount of outputs in general it has. The DN840 is a fantastic receiver, especially for the price. The setup is easy and the automatic speaker calibration is about as good as any I have done on other receivers, probably better. But again, its the sound and features that put this Receiver above and beyond those in its price range.
Summary: I just wanted a media hub that controlled my Mac Mini, iPhone 5, TV, TiVo, and PS3. Well this one does it and more. When I power up my Bravia TV, the receiver auto powers on. When I use my TV's Volume buttons, it sends the signal to the receiver. There's and actual "GAME" button on the remote that switches to my PS3. Bluetooth works well, haven't played with the wifi or the USB yet. I wish the remote buttons glowed in the dark.
Summary: Works great, super easy to install via HDMI cables. Sounds good and looks even better. Have everything I need hooked up, ps3, ps4, and cable tv. And the pass thru works great for when you don't want it on, can just use sound from tv.
Summary: This happens to be my first AV receiver and I must say it absolutely the best. My little speakers is a no match. I may need a professional help in selecting the best matching speakers and subwoofers
Summary: I had a Marantz for 10 years and finally gave up trying to work around not having HDMI in/out on my stereo. Bought this after serious research and I am especially impressed with the pass-thru mode.
Summary: The STR-DN840 A/V Receiver worked right out of the Box with no problems . The built in tuner has very good sensitivity for locking in the FM station. The picture quality is excellent and the surround sound is the best that I have heard.
