Summary: Great Product. Bought after reading CNET review. Intuitive. Easy. Had a 500 watt Pioneer prior. The extra watts must really make a difference. Noticeably better sound quality on same Polk Audio speakers. Very pleased.
Summary: I have to admit I was not sure if I should buy this one. I found a lot of outstanding ratings online but on this website there was a lot of negative feedback as well. So I hoped for the best. My receiver does everything it is suppose to do. I think it truly comes down that some receivers are broken and the majority are working. Which makes me wonder about Sony's quality reviews before the product leaves their factory.
Summary: Overall I am extremely pleased with the unit. It came promptly and has performed better than expected. One draw back, we have Russound units to power the house with music and to date, I've not found a way to hook them up. There is no "out" port for this.
Summary: I bought this receiver from the warehouse to replace a 6-year old Onkyo receiver that cost more than $700.00. It wasn't that the Onkyo was bad, but this Sony was soooo much better. Clear sound accompanied by great speech clarity and surround sound make this receiver a real winner - particularly at this price. The current model, the 850, for $100.00 more is nothing by an update. Don't waste your money.
Summary: Best receiver on the market for the price. Has wireless, Bluetooth, and Airplay capabilities which normally come with much higher priced units. Easy to set up. Hardest part was using the remote to key in the WEP code for the wireless. You need to hold down the shift button. Streaming capability from either home network or internet is top notch and easy to use. The sound field choices are varied and work well with most any surround speaker system.
Pros: wireless bluetooth airplay
Cons: remote - still recommend an all-in-one remote
Summary: It is pretty much everything I wanted. I love its sleek look, bundle of features, quality sound output and the more-than-sufficient amount of outputs in general it has. The DN840 is a fantastic receiver, especially for the price. The setup is easy and the automatic speaker calibration is about as good as any I have done on other receivers, probably better. But again, its the sound and features that put this Receiver above and beyond those in its price range.
Summary: I'm typically hesitant to buy Sony products (cameras, tv's). I trusted the ratings and couldn't be happier with this receiver. Especially due to the setup and pairing with your bluetooth device for audio. Setup took maybe 5 mins and needed no additional configuration. Definitely recommend!
Summary: This receiver has a lot of features, wifi, airplay, blue tooth, I highly recommend this product. At first I said Sony? But it had good reviews on CNET!!! With the right speakers, puts out great sound.
