Summary: Great audio quality, and plenty of hookups (7.2 sound, a jillion HDMI ports). But mind these limitations: > No HDMI upconverting. So you'll have to connect two video cables to your TV if you have an old analog source. > The remote is not universal.
Summary: I am very happy with this receiver. The only down side I have found is an annoying pop up that happens when turning up sound or any kind of adjustment made to it while watching TV or playing video Games. I am back to give better advice after using this product for some time.
Great features, good sound, but annoying 'gotchas'

Summary: We love the sound quality, it allows excellent manual control of all speakers, and the networking and bluetooth features are cool. I have five annoyances that justify the three stars. 1) 'Pass through' doesn't work for us.
Summary: Just got the recover to replace an ancient ES receiver. While the build quality is not as good the features and sound quality are great. The only thing that bothers me about this u it however is the Audible low pitch hum it emits. Never had this issue with my old receiver.
Summary: Ok... this is a very good receiver. It works well and functions well. Sound is very good and the sound fields are great. Howerver, do not think that because it has bluetooth, Airplay, 4k, BluRay, etc that you are getting all the connectivity that you might think you are getting.
Irritating & typical arrogant Sony. The remote is NOT ...

Summary: Irritating & typical arrogant Sony. The remote is NOT programmable. The other devices controls (DVD & TV) only work for SONY devices! So just to turn on/off my attached TV or run my non-Sony DVD, I can't use the receiver remote. What are they thinking. No wonder they're doing badly.
Summary: This receiver was to replace my old Kenwood VR-6060 receiver. The setup was mostly straight forward. Some of the translations in the manual; front upper, vs surround, vs rear surround were not always clear.
