Summary: AMAZING VALUE!! Great features and at the $400 price point it stood alone. Easy connectivity and super clean sound. The GUI is a bit antiquated but it works. HDMI switching, Bluetooth, and Airplay options are awesome. Shop the price for the best deal as I have seen them from $399 to $599
Summary: I've waited quite a while for a receiver with these features, especially at this price point. I love the sound and the amount of HDMI. I use the USB port a lot. The remote app could be better. But, that's quibbling.

Summary: I decided to turn in my 4 1/2 y/o Yamaha AVR for something newer. I have a hearing problem and recently purchased a Roku2 which shows Netflix streaming with captions. But, in order to receive in HD, you have to have a DD + receiver, not just Dolby Digital.
Summary: I purchased a massive $1600 Onkyo PR SC855 pre-amp in about 2008. That was coupled with a Carver Sunfire Cinema Grand 5 channel amp, and at one time powered a dedicated home theater that was the envy of all my friends.
Summary: SONY STRDN-1030 RECEIVER So, I finally exchanged my Sony STRDH830 for the NEW SONY STRDN-1030 on Sunday. One Word - "AWESOME" The STRDH830 was and is a fantastic receiver and only had it for a few days until I heard the STRDN1030 was due to be released.
Summary: I received my Sony STR-DN 1030 on 9/06 and found it to be an excellent choice. Overall the sound quality is excellent and confirms CNet's review. I took advantage of the A/B speaker set up; A is my main source and B is for the Lanai. I can mix and match depending upon what I am doing.
Summary: This is a fantastic receiver! Why? SOUND Quality is tops: everything is ear candy with this receiver both music (all types: great sound!) and movies (great sound!). Isn't that much of the reason one buys a receiver: Sound quality? I've owned it since Christmas and had no problems at all.
