Sony STR 1010 does not make you ashamed to friends!!!!
4 February 2013
Summary: This is a good product from SONY like many other, have ingenuity and incredible sounds if is working with goods speakers...but have some minor, insignificant problem with pre programable to bring out the best audio sound,However Low price and beautiful design make from this model, pattern, a must have for music fans. Thank you for your time!!!
Summary: We use this for pandora in the kitchen so sound quality is not a huge concern. However, it has been great. The best part is that it turns off when I leave the house with my iPhone , so I never come home to a hot cabinet from the heat of an amp doing nothing. I am very happy.
Summary: I purchased the STR-DN1010 as an upgrade over my former Sony STR-DE845 primarily for HDMI capability. I have owned the new receiver for approximately 3 months and have zero complaints. Some other reviews I read stated there was some issues when switching between sources such as lost picture or general decoding problems that were only corrected with a receiver power cycle; I have experienced no such problems and the switch between sources occurs without delay.
Summary: had this receiver about 1 month and so far so good. excellent sound quality and the g.u.i. adjustments are easy. just follow along with the booklet. If it fails in the future I will follow up on this review.
Summary: This is a fantastic, state of the art receiver. It has a very good dynamic range. It replaced my Sony D1010 receiver which served me well for 17 years and is just like new. I love my old receiver, and only replaced it for the 7:1 feature and the HDMI features. My mother now has it. It is hard to top the D1010, but this receiver is more state of the art. Very clean sound even at low volume. The price was also fantastic. I also hooked up my phono to it, and it works fine.
Summary: The product is very good and the price-quality ratio exceeded my expectations. 100% recommended I chose it for its price and because it is a brand that has very good components. It comes with many new things that far exceeds other similar products.
Summary: I'm happy with my purchase, and I would recomend it. I transfered my HK AVR154 for this unit and it was abreeze to get it up and rrunning. I love the manual because its very descriptive about every advanced setting. This unit is running my NSZ-GT1 and my Sony Bravie TV, with of course the PS3. The sound is amazing, much less mudled than the older HK that I was using, and the picture is flawless. I have a LED LCD and the difference shows.
Summary: 1. Connections I've been using this receiver everyday for about a month now and I love it. I use it to connect my laptop to an external monitor, for my PS3, cable box, and mp3 player (had to buy 3.5mm to RCA converter) and I still have tons of hook ups left. This receiver definitely has enough hook ups for any home theater. It is very easy to switch between sources though it often takes the receiver a good 5 seconds to switch. The HDMI pass through is very useful.
Summary: I must admit, I've usually been wary of Sony products. It seems that in the past they have been middle-range products for high-end price. Well, thats not the case with this receiver. I was so very specific when I looked for a receiver to buy. I needed: Auto-calibration for the speakers 7.1 minimum capability DTS-HD/Dolby HD decoders 3 HDMI minimum HDMI pass-through Tweakable inputs (mix and match ability) GUI menus Excellent sound with decent power Pros: I got everything...
