Summary: I just use mine for surround sound, I needed the HD ports and seeing that it is 3D compatible was nice too since I have a 3D tv and blu ray. Sound is good, easy to hook up as far as receivers go.
Summary: When my old tuner/Amp fried on me I was at a loss, however while this has less options for manual controls - it relys heavily on the remote control, it does offer the same ease of use, setup, functions and options my prior Sony Tuner/Amp did with all the upgrades of today's technology!
Summary: When I decided to get an appletv device, I needed to also replace my old surround receiver with one that had HDMI inputs. My old receiver was a Sony and it had performed very well over a number of years so I decided to look for another Sony with HDMI capability.
Summary: This is a great receiver with plenty of options and connections for your 3D HDMI Digital home theater. It's powerful enough to fill the majority of my first floor with quality audio. I paired it with a set of five 8" Polk in-ceiling speakers and a Polk 8" powered subwoofer. They sound great.
Summary: I decided to go with the STR-DH810 receiver after reading several reviews. It is replacing a defective Onkyo HT-SP908 receiver, but I am still using the speakers from the Onkyo set which are awesome. This receiver is about half of the price as an Onkyo receiver that has similar functionality.
Summary: This is my second Sony home theater receiver. The previous one I purchased in 1999. It performed very well, but lacked the HDMI ports. Thus I needed to upgrade. The 810 does everything as advertised. It was easy to install and set up.
