Summary: don't be mislead: "zone 2 capable" does not mean the unit can do it out of the box---furthermore, the hardware to make it "capable" of playing music in a second zone is a whopping 800+ dollars. what a joke. i could have just bought another receiver for 350 bucks that can do the job if i had known that "capable" really meant "not included"... i'm not an audiophile so i wasn't hip to the marketing nuances sony is "capable" of, ha. live and learn i guess.
Summary: We used this unit successfully for 14 months. HDMI switching was a nice feature as was dual zone speaker outputs. But, in the end, we got the famed Sony reliability. Why do I keep buying Sony crap? This things is DEAD. Makes the little "click" noise when you press the power button. But no signs of life.
