Summary: I thought that I needed new speakers to get better sound from my Blu Rays, but as sone as I plugged the HDMI from the Blu Ray to this receiver the sound was amazing. Even my wife could tell a difference and that is saying something!
Summary: Purchased this product after weeks of research and i glad with the decision i made. I am using a ps3 and directtv hd dvr both connected with hdmi cables. As far as the video goes, I can see absolutly no loss as it goes through the reciever.

Summary: I got what I expected to get from Sony and more after purchasing this upgrade from my older STR-DE695 6.1, did that only for the HDMI ports. Got 10 more watts per channel and their new ESurround mode rules for music movies and video games.
