Works as advertised. Good price, good sound, easy to set up.

Summary: Bought this to replace a four-year old STR-DH800 7.1. (The old one didn't have 3D pass-through and I had to run a separate HDMI to the projector). The wattage is advertised for 6-ohm speakers and I was worried that it would not sound as well as the older one when running full blast. I usually ran volume of the 800 at 45 or less and I feel as though I need to run the new one a bit higher. However, I don't detect any distortion.

Summary: Did a ton of reading about home theater receivers before landing on this one. Now that I have it all hooked up I'm really loving it. The main reason I love it is the HDMI audio sharing (ARC) to the TV. My TV only has 2 HDMI ports, and its only audio out was optical. So I previously had it set up with the optical feeding out to a digital-to-analog converter, which then fed into a really cheap stereo.
Summary: This is currently a last-gen receiver, so some features on brand-new receivers (like bluetooth, airplay, etc) are absent. However, for the price these are being sold for, this is a smoking deal on getting a good receiver that has all the features that actually matter for a great audio/visual experience, including: -7 channels to drive speakers (or the option to bi-amp 2 and drive a total of 5) -2 outputs for subwoofers (the passive sub from your HTIB won't work with...
Summary: I was not expecting a system that would blow my ears off when i purchased this unit. But after setting it up in my bedroom entertainment center and making all the connections I found myself truly impressed. The sound is amazing. The system simply works. i did not have to spend my time setting up the unit and programming my remotes because of the Anynet+ on my TV and Blu-Ray player.
Summary: This is one awesome, receiver. My 3rd sony receiver. Took a while to figure it out, but that's the fun of it. My last two lasted about 8 years, everyday abuse, guess I'm good with that, for the price. Any other receiver with all these functions cost plenty more! Just one thing, I wish the USB hook- up was in back of the receiver, would look better. If you buy one, be patient and don't be afraid to call teq support, this receiver allows you to hook up many different ways.
Summary: I got this along with energy micro rc speakers. I was never very satisfied with the sound and very disappointed. I would hear distortion with the amp up above 65 and it seemed to be getting worse. I brought my friends amp over and it sounded awesome. His was a denon. My amazon return period was over so I sent it to sony. They told me that they heard no problem. I hooked it up and it was still distorting. I sent it in again and the told me the same thing.

Summary: I've been using it for a little over a week now and still learning about. I'll bypass the praise, you can read those on other reviews. Went from 5.1 to 7.1 and soon to be 7.2 Used the automatic speaker setup (works great for my room) but couldn't find the 7.2 selection as the menu only went up to 5.1. What? Went online line (not in the user manual) and found that I had to select the 3.4.1 speaker setup. Okay, now I get it, 3 front, 4 surround, subwoofer.
