Summary: New to multi media receiver, so took a while to get a hang of set up with all my devices, but in the end I am very happy with the quality of this unit. It powers my high end towers I'd stored for too long in the garage. Now I can enjoy them along with a now an enhanced home theater experience.
Pros: Price and power are great for my needs. Easy visual menu for modifying setting on screen. Powers my towers just as I had hoped.
Cons: Gets hot! Will be good heater in winter months. (I guess that's sort of a positive.)
Summary: This is my first home theater receiver. I have a 3.1 speaker setup, ATT Uverse, Samsung Bluray player, Firestick, VCR. I don' t watch TV or movies at high volume, and have not yet watched a Bluray video. I don't play video games.
Pros: It does what it is supposed to do. Includes calibration microphone and has the all the inputs and outputs I need - HDMI inputs and output, front/middle/subwoofer, composite. I haven't used the USB port. I don't need a network connection. The auto input select works well and it is compatible with ...
Cons: The documentation both printed and onscreen is very meager. You are pretty much on your own to figure out what behavior to expect from various settings.
Excerpt: The only issue with this amp for me is that the Pure Direct feature turns off after turning off the amp so you have to enable it each time you turn the amp on. Thought it sounded tinny in the beginning but after some adjustments it does perform nicely.
Pros: Easy To Set Up, Good Power Output, Good Remote Control, Great Sound Quality
Excerpt: Used for TV, mainly so my 21 month old will play with this and not my system, which is much more expensive. Running the sony with Focal bookshelf's, sound is pretty good, but nearly all setting are menu-driven, which is okay for a TV setup. All in all, works well for my needs.
Summary: We purchased this receiver as part of an electronics upgrade in our motor home. It had all the features we needed and at a good price point.
Pros: Price, connections, size/power.
Cons: A lot of the features such as radio presets, and setup features can only be accessed by the on screen function on an HDMI connected TV. If you are thinking of using this receiver without an HDMI connected TV this can be an issue.
