Summary: I would not call myself a super-sophisticated audiophile but we do listen to music, play games, watch HD TV and Blu-ray movies and, occasionally, we listen to the radio. Our new acquisition - this Sony STRDG820 - we credit with enhancing all of the above and it does it (with some help - see below)...
Summary: Receiver offers great features. Excellent sound and easy to use. The only problem I had was with the accessory to set the sound correctly for the room. I could never get it to work. Otherwise, it is a great buy for the money.
Summary: I have had this receiver for about 1 month. This receiver is everything I expected. Out of the Box I had it setup and running within a 1/2 hour. Using HDMI cable from my units to the receiver and one HDMI to my TV is great. Everything is 1080 out from the TV.
Summary: I'm very happy with this amp.The cost was well worth it.I am trying to recreate the sound you hear at a movie theater.I am also very focused on music quality.I bought this amp after going through alot of reviews on the web. This Sony amp reproduces the sound that I'm looking for.In five years or less...
Summary: For the benefit of other greybeards like myself who may still want to be able to play their old vinyl, I should like to add that of the STR-DG520, STR-DG720, STR-DG820 and STR-DG920, only the last-named has a phono input!
Summary: I purchased this item at an amazingly low price of $250, free delivery. However, as I will use this item in the Far East, I paid an extra $100 for shipping. This, however, is still of great value as the same item is selling in Hong Kong for around $500 (list price $600).
Excellent Receiver for the price, but instructions are REALLY bad.

Summary: I am a big fan of Sony. They do make a quality product. This receiver is no exception. PROS: It is an great receiver for the price. It is solid, and the front panel is uncluttered. There are several HDMI inputs (4), composite inputs and plenty of audio inputs too.
Summary: I just hooked this system up, and for the money it is a great system. Using the HDMI ports are awesome being that you do not have massive amounts of cables running everywhere. The speakers sound very clear, and I was actually listening to NFL games in surround sound.
